PvP for Disciples of Magic is disastrously designed and woefully inconsiderate.

The most infuriating part of casting for me is the fact that all a target has to do is run behind you (or far enough to the side) to cancel your targeting. And there is no movement restriction while attacking.


Anytime someone is dumb enough to let me get spells off though, it's pretty much game over.

The problem is that the Equanimity is pretty much required on any DoM to be even remotely useful.

You can track people trying to move around or behind you, hold right click and rotate your camera so you continue facing your target while casting.

By Pole Dancing do you mean circling 'round the columns in the arena?

All they have to do is what every other MMO does in this aspect. Dont make it so every single time you are attacked it interrupts your cast, just give it a pushback effect on your cast bar so it takes longer, and give every caster instant cast CC the same way every melee has. Staying away from someone shouldnt be any harder than catching up with someone and staying on them. There needs to be a balance or casters are useless.

Right now its incredibly one sided unless you're playing a SMN which is OP due to all their hard hitting instants.

The meta in this game is so mind numbingly stupid, healer just sprints around walls and los constantly and using swiftcast heal on themselves and the whole objective is to chase the healer until you can finally kill them and whichever team manages this first, wins.

This game has potential but the PvP is absolute garbage, probably the worst PvP Ive ever seen.

Every caster can use swiftcast every 1min and surecast every 30sec and they have abilities that have under 2sec casts while melee atttack on them + instant casts. Black mage have extra 20 sec instant sleep pvp skill + improved surecast. Kiting is also easy and melees can not complete full combo moving targets so easily. Blm have have extra manipulation skill for the extra mobility. They have physical shield that make immune damage 2 next attack that help you hit against melee + magic shield that help against magic interrupts. I think pvp is good and have good potential in the future once we get more brackets and rated matches.

so using a single ability every 30 seconds is fair while being chased by a DRG that has 100% uptime and can pretty much 3 shot you? I dont think so.

1st. yes using surecast and swiftcast every 30 to 60 seconds is perfectly ok. without it casters dps WOULD BE OP.
2nd. LOL what drg move can 3 shot you? even if you stack all you buffs on...there is literally no "3 shot kill" moves.this scenerio is only possible if you are

a. going in pvp with pve gear
b. or going up against rank 30 players.
c. you are just terrible and not using defensive CDs

btw i'm a rank 21 players and i have a ilvl 70 drg and also have been gear up my BLM for pvping. i dont believe that BLM is under powered at all

How about that dragoon longest cc is 3sec stun and blm 30 sec sleep. It is fair if both have 100% uptime? blm can still use scathe or blizzard2/blizzard3/fire3 that have under 2sec cast even without any cd

Scathe is good for interupting casters, as for the rest los would like to have a word with you. At either 30 or 40 cap you don't have lethargy. Manawall has a very long cd, personally I prefer featherfoot to it, but a blm doesn't get access to that, however a thm does. Most if not all the time a BLMs duty is to disrupt healing, for the most part either by sleeping, binding, or interupting (in pugs, premades are subject to be different).

Standing still and attempting to nuke everyone doesn't work, because it's open season on blms, and our main source of damage is pretty much neutered in pvp, that's not balanced, not in Wolf's Den, at the very least spell speed should work a little more than it does in pve. You can always check out that blm pvp video and count the number times the blm gets line of shotted.
