I didn't think of that, actually. Thanks.
I did. I quit after two weeks due to all the raging.

heres what I do before a ct run starts. I say in alliance chat "if you don't know the fights please ask. I will explain them to you as to reduce senseless wipes." I still get people who don't want to ask and would rather wipe us and for those people I have zero tolerance. give them the chance to ask and they refuse. so by that logic they are trolls.
So I've noticed what everyone has noticed lately which is a long annoying (DUTY IS READY!) Someone Declined. This happens when Tanks or heals try to get a fast queue for in progress for myth OR when DPS falls asleep. What I propose is a Que timer like the abandon duty but less penalising. Maybe something like 3-5 minutes if you let it expire or deny the queue. This would alleviate a LOT of player headache with this skipping issue.
Thoughts?
CT is a coordination and communication check. I think it is made to make us learn being able to communicate with a big group, and being able to coordinate efforts. Everything goes fine if everybody knows what to do and waits for people to be ready before starting (and start at the same time.) At first, since most people were new to the place, there would be leaders that explained, more coordination effort and things went usually well, with more or less difficulty depending on people's level and skill.
Now CT it seems has the reputation of being an easy dungeon (which it is IF people do what they have to do and many are not just enough geared to join), people think all have been there many times, that all will go well with no coordination effort, and usually nobody takes the time to explain unless there are proofs that enough number of people are not doing what they should. (Which usually means a wipe.)
If people joined CT knowing coordination and communication are the important things, I think things would get better. Trolls are not happy if they don't cause havoc at the alliance chat. Probably there are not that many, just people who make non deliberate mistakes.
New people should tell it from the start, groups never start without checking others, etc. The ones that are leaders of the group (many randomly appointed) should make a bit of coordination and explaining effort even if they didn't ask for it. And politeness is a must.
Pointing fingers on alliance chats does nothing to improve things. Saying everybody are awful except oneself in alliance chats is absurd.
We all are in a hurry to get our loot and tomes, but just a bit of time to coordinate and explain will save much more time unless we are lucky with the alliance.
Honestly, what happened to online gaming? This isn't just a CT problem, it's every game I play. WoW: Orgrimmar/Barrens chat; Diablo 2: Ebay sellers; Diablo 3: AH scalpers; SWTOR: Same PUG issues as this....this list can go on and on. What happened to it just being a fun game? "Pros" wanting to speed run everything is one thing; that's just slightly annoying, yet I understand the idea; fast Myth. But trolling like this; come on really? I am in my 30's and I play this stuff for fun and for relaxation, not to have a kid half my age go off about nothing. If I wanted that I would go back to the racist 9 year olds in the HALO waiting rooms...
I don't agree with treating people rudely in CT, even if they know literally nothing about the dungeon. Everyone was new at some point and the fight mechanics are simple enough that you could probably do it right the first time with a short explanation. During the first few weeks after CT was released, I'd see some people actually have macros for each fight explanation.
Anyway... I find it ironic that your post, complaining about treating people rudely, is titled "Crystal Tower Idiocy." XD I think we could all be kinder with the words we use in the MMO world, even if they don't target anyone in particular.
First time as a tank I dropped out of CT, not even getting to the first loot.
Alliance A, 3 different DPS, decided to start the battle without waiting for anything; 1st caused a wipe due to dragon down winding his attacks against all 3 alliances. 2nd, same boss, locked out alliance C who was last to fully wipe and hadn't even made it to the boss, and 3rd wouldn't hold undead dragon in the back, turned towards the whole team, and didn't attack adds. Oh, while B and C were trying to help some people unfamiliar with the boss with some explanations of what to do.
/end rant
I will be optimistic and try again tomorrow.
And to clarify, I meant it was the first time I have ever dropped out of CT. I happened to be in the tank role.
