Do you remember your first time playing FFXIV?

I remember logging on my email and had been invited to the Alpha...didn't even realise i was two weeks late on the forums. Got on and enjoyed being a Elezan for a little while and then a Lala and even though the install had taken a age and i got booted after 5 mins it was a lovely experience seeing the world for the first time! I remember there being a great big red line down the character creation screen and it was laggy as anything but still nice to have been part of. The world was mad busy and you couldn't move for people fighting rats and moles outside LL and always fun when the Aeth would disappear or the fanfare of leveling up would keep going off.

I pressed Space Bar and thought "which button for jumping?"

In Closed Beta I was like "Man, this world is amazing, and it's just Limsa Lominsa!", also I've shared my account with a friend of mine, and he was like "Wat, 8 leves every 2 days? Nah, I'll wait for Open Beta and play with ye =)", because he doesn't like to explore the world as much as I like, so as today he logs sometimes just to do some leves and have fun with me.

That gave us a kind of nostalgic effect.
Everytime I go to Limsa Lominsa I feel like at home, because of the ambience and the music. It's just like if my character has been born there even if I created her on Ul'dah.
And when me and my friend go or simply say Limsa Lominsa, we scream out loud at unitone:
[SIZE=6]"[/SIZE][SIZE=6]A SIGHT FOR ME SORE EYES!"[/SIZE]

Yes, I played for 10 minutes and then my game crashed. Sad thing is I had WAY more fun in open beta than I did when the game was actually released.

I think La Noscea zone is 10x better than Thanalan

I'm missing the open beta time just because a lot of people play in that zone

I remember playing through Beta and hoping a lot of the issues would be resolved for the retail release. When I got the retail release I quickly noticed it was pretty much the same version as open beta. Still very laggy UI, 5 seconds to sell each item to an NPC, etc.... They fixed some of these issues but people were quitting left and right. If it wasn't for the decision to make it free to play I would probably be gone as well.

Oh man, as negative as most posts sounds, it more hilarious to read them.

Another moment I would like to share about myself are leves. From R1-R20 I would always gather a 15 man party (worked everytime) and just did leves, I did not care about experience point, but it was fun running with a big group, people got frustrated each time that experience was so low ha ha ha, then there were times we would do leves and mobs were too high so we kept dying even after respawning, they would chase us because that one person wouldn't die, thus, everybody ran everywhere.

I was only allowed to experience the open beta for 5 minutes :|

Oh, and I remember the clusterF*** of people trying to connect to the closed beta servers before they were 24/7 and killing the servers pretty much every day. Fun times.
