There is no reason to enter Coil / CT / HM Titan in anything less than full Darklight armor now. At the very least, all your armor pieces should be Darklight, the jewelry doesn't matter so much, and your weapon should be at least Moggle Mog.
Yes, you can get away with AK gear, but why? Why would you want to drag your party members down by coming in with less than Darklight? Its completely selfish and illogical in my book. As someone who was competing for server firsts at launch I know that the content can be completed with less than Darklight but at this point you have no excuse except just your own impatience or ignorance.
You can get full Darklight now quite easily in a shorter period of time now. Having the Darklight first will make getting your Relic easier. Getting a relic weapon first doesn't make your Darklight grind any shorter. The endgame, CT/Coil, are once a week lockouts, so there shouldn't be a rush to do that content until you have at least full Darklight armor. The extra hp,defense and stats will only increase you and your group's chances of success, and it really isn't asking much of you to run a few CM/Praetoriums. You cannot rely on your item to drop in Coil.
More often than not, the ungeared players expect the geared players to carry them, and they try to justify their lack of gear by being grouped with extremely well geared players. It isn't fair nor is it fun to run into this type of noob. You see people who have spent 1+ hours wiping to Coil / CT / Titan HM, then you examine them and realize they're not even full Darklight, its extremely discouraging because they could have spent that time gearing themselves out more, and saved you all the headaches of wiping.
Yes, I know that all the content in the game is ez blah blah, doesn't change the fact that you should have all your Darklight armor before you begin the endgame. Not that I'm condoning this, but at least in CT you can get away with hiding in the crowd. CT can be completed with 16-18 people easily. But yeah in HM Titan / Coil, its way less reasonable to not have full Darklight armor.
Anybody who uses the term noob with any sort of seriousness loses any respect from me.
I bet you go into low level duty roulette in i90 gear and get pissy if someone doesn't know a fight.
While back then getting your relic the legit way was indeed a proof of experience, i know for fact that half of the relics you see nowadays are from carry runs.
How do i know ?
I sold hundreds of Titan HM runs or full relics quests and still do even after patch.
I can tell you about 8/10 of my customers never survived past P3 in Titan yet are now hanging around with relic(s).
Unless you have a valid way to see if the guy you're inspecting has been carried or not, dont rely on relics as proof of experience.
PS: People are starting to sell EX carry runs, so dont expect to see EX weapons as a proof of experience either.
From my own experience, every single time people fail CT, it's because they don't understand the raid, every single time!
It's not because the gear.
just because someone has poor gear doesn't mean they have poor skill. many like me have fully geared mains and even first alts so in order to get something actually useful they go with poor geared classes. for example post 2.1 I get one il90 weapon per week so there is zero reason for me to get a relic and waste 900 phil stones on it which I can use to buy mats, gear up my nth alt etc.
point is if they pass the ilvl check of the dungeon they are gonna be fine.
I completed CT wearing Christmas chess and commendations crown :D
CT is easy, too easy.
On Behemoth, using WHM is...cast medica II, hide back the comet, medica II, hide and loot.
The main problem is... we are playing CT 3 weeks and explanations need 10 minutes :(
Vegeta, what does the scouter say about OP's elitist jerk attitude?
Well.. you know.
