Mass Deflation Hitting my Server HARD

As for the prices of everything else under the sun: supply and demand.

Take harvested logs/ore/etc. There is an influx of materials on the market since a lot of people leveled a botanist/miner to 50 so they can get maps and dumped all their harvested items on the broker.

Also, the big rush of the server population grinding crafters to 50 is waning. The demand just isn't there.

Think about pre-50 gear: Dungeons give Aetherial gear which is iLvl+2 or +3 and better than the similar level HQ item. People are grinding these to level. They don't really need crafted gear to level. Maybe the odd piece if they go 10 levels without a ring upgrade.

Also, think about the ease by which people got crafters to 50. I feel like every 10 seconds someone is shouting in town that they have all 8 crafting jobs to 50 and they are selling their services (that no one wants) for a couple gil. Too many crafters. Too few customers.

That's exactly why I find the market such a joke sometimes; massive high prices on things that is just bragging rights at most. I want a tonberry minion, but I rather play RNG with the maps than to spend a million gil.

do you guys buy your mats off the marketboard? do you gather everything yourself? those 2 questions determine wether you will make it as a crafter. gather yourself = rolling in dough. buy from others in markets = selling price is crap. If you think that market prices suck think again. the things that everyone makes are going to hell. but just pick a class and look thru the items, lvl48/49 rings sell for 4-5k on my server, lvl29 rings sell for 6-8k usually. not always about what sells the best, but about what sells for higher. If your willing to diversify what you craft you will make thousands more a day than if you just craft 1-2 items multiple times.

You realise that if the final product is worth less than the mats, you actually lose out more by gathering your own mats, right? Sure, your actual cost is 0 (ignoring teleport/transportation/repair costs for gathering the mats). Opportunity cost is that you could've sold those mats instead for more than the final product. There's also the old adage "Time is money." If the item in question is that bad, you lose either way.

Aside from that bit of misinformation, everything else is correct.

Lol I haven't gathered materials for anything. Just buy, make an item, and resell for profit. Why waste hours farming when I can do everything standing next to the MB and craft 1.5 hrs every 3 days or so to fill up retainers. I might make more gathering myself but I simply don't have the time.

350k on MB on my server and people /sh ask for 200k.

The Boarskin maps are selling at least 10K MORE than the Piestkin maps as well

same here and 2 star gears are between 60k to 80k, mats are 3k to 4k each.
