That would take work, precious work that could go into making better content like more minions, mounts, gear and monster recolors for dungeons instead.

Bard is already an extremely useful class (interrupts, ranged DPS, songs), if they were able to make up for the damage loss of Final Heaven, melee wouldn't have a chance.

You already need at least one for all parties... it's bad enough. This is why I'm against giving Bards a different LB.

And I agree. I play a melee DPS and rarely die, but I see 9/10 melee DPS (particularly monk) dying to rather simple mechanics. I've also seen bards try to claim their job is 'harder at a range', which just makes me laugh. Hard.

Have you lvld brd to 50 and taken it into endgame to base that on?

If BRD got it's own LB I think it should summon a giant spoon to smack the mob with.

I think you're the only one then because I recall we would enter abyssea mis and ppl would say if you want to reset your 2 hr get a certain drop here and use it for insta reset. Don't have to rely on the dice for a reset.

I'd like to know out of curiosity and nothing more how many ppl who keep saying brd is is just support have actually lvld it to 50 and taken it into endgame content. If you haven't touched the class at all and are basing it on ffxi then lvl it first then open your mouth and say what you have to say but with something to back it up. Atm, brd is a hybrid dps with a crappy LB I'll agree to that, something like a LB to buff the rest of the party on skills is not a bad idea at all I would prefer it actually to what brds have now. How many brds have you asked play brd because atm it's the only ranged pew pew out there? How many would love to branch out into pure dps like ranger?

Brds are doing the best they can with what they have atm, but let's see how many will migrate to maining Ranger instead when and if that comes about. Also, if you want brds to play all those bloody instruments in ffxi, they do still have those servers up go enjoy that brd version. This is ffxiv, brd is different here. Also bear in mind that brds can't make everyone happy. If a battle comes down to the amount of dps being thrown out and timing is everything, a brd can either throw up a song and lose 20% of their dps unless it's foe requiem, and possibly cause a fail because the loss of dps is that critical or the party can manage their tp and mp better and let the brd contribute every bit of dps they can. Don't go raging, it's a what if scenario.
