ITT: Bad players who are unable to down Twintania try to pretend problems that they aren't good enough to experience don't exist.
I'm not sure how this works, but okay, guys. Keep it up.
If any of you were good enough to down Twintania, you would know exactly what the problem is.
In regards to 'lol BRD has to ballad for healers anyway,' no, we're actually skilled enough to do Twintania correctly (not powering through Death Sentence's debuff), so our healers don't need Ballad.
Everyone runs out of resource (except BLMs).
What are you actually trying to change?
Either:
1. resource is no longer a problem for anyone (I'm a fan of this approach).
2. deal with it.
I dunno why you think this is a problem only you have encountered.
Also, insulting people is really not a very good way of getting them on your side.
When a melee runs out of TP, their next Invigorate fixes it for quite a while.
When a SMN runs out of MP, our next Aetherflow lets us put up exactly one set of DoTs, but doesn't sustain us to our next Aetherflow. Even if we use Energy Drain x3 (which massacres our DPS), we can't sustain a rotation until the next Aetherflow, or even close to it.
Once we hit the point that we're OOM, our DPS drops off hard and stays low until the encounter is over or we get a Ballad.
Again, in the case of Twintania, a Ballad isn't going to happen; the BRD will have used all of his MP on Foe Requiem once the final phase hits. If he has to save MP just for the SMN, then the SMN is weighing the group down where a BLM or different class wouldn't.
Dropping ruin entirely from your rotation is a 12% dps loss.
Hardly a massive loss.
Loss of Fester vs Energy drain is also a 450 loss per minute, or 7.5 pps. This is roughly equivalent to a 6% dps loss.
Again, not a "massacre" of your dps.
incredibly bad summoner (I just repeat myself until he stops whining and understands his job)
just do what I do, at 60-70% mp, I stop using RUIN II to let in non-gcd spells like fester, it's a very small dps loss, cause you are probably only missing half a second uptime every 10 seconds.
You do realize invigorate has twice the cooldown of aetherflow, right?
And that after using invigorate, there aren't 6 free chances to restore additional TP?
to simplify:
Invigorate: +40% of resource
Aetherflow x2: +40% of resource, + Potential Energy Drains
now compare your resource efficiency with that of a physical class. You've got them by miles. Your worst skill beats all but one of my regular rotation skills.
Monk has it better, if they ignore certain dps boosts (resource management, the thing you seem to be allergic to).
Dragoon not so much, though they've got +50% resource on their CD instead of 40 to balance out their TP efficiency.
Your class is not getting the shaft and is hardly at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to resource management.
Edit:
I am editing out this part because either I cant make it clear this was pre- turn5 /usual smn damage rotation in other fights or people simply can not distinguish there are different parts to this conversation.
But i figured out my own rotation that works well in turn 5 so for that *points down*
Had another go at turn5 today. Basically I am just keeping the 4 DoTs on Twintania at all time as well as Shadowflare, once the conflag comes up I bane onto it then fester and drain and ruinII till it is dead, on the final conflag I am finding all I have is Ruin II though. Got past that phase several times to the one where she begins to dive bomb us and pull up snakes
^^ yay progress.
