Have you done the math on some of the high end food? Its impossible to get the full value of the bonus as you do not have enough base stats cause food is based on percentages, this does not help you any.
The 2 star food is too expensive and I will avoid it due to cost and no extra gains, try making 45-49 food which people can get the full benefits of. It will be cheaper for you to make and sells faster and more consistently.

I'm glad a lot of you are taking the time to respond to my topic... Some key points I saw were: (And I apologize for being to lazy to directly quote everyone!)
Food lasting through death: This is the number one reason I don't buy top end food. I prefer the Alehouse Wench food also mentioned in this topic.
Insignificant gains debunked: Someone mentioned along the way that even though you don't see a significant gain by yourself... Spread over 8 members of the party the gain is very significant. This may be the best point I saw that I didn't previously think of.
Food is like an extra piece of gear: There is truth to this! You'd spend a few hundred Mythology Tomes for the same gains if they were permanent. Why not spend a few hundred gil for temporary gains.
You can't max high end foods: This is currently true... but then these foods are iLevel 70. Are they a simple plan or vision into the future?
Great comments from everyone keep them coming!
