Actually devs/mods I would like to know if FFXIV uses MSSQL or MYSQL, or some other proprietary database.
The servers are designed to host way more players than they currently do. If this game had been a success the wards would be a massive disaster right now with many people locked out of them due to limitations. Then again they probably would have addressed it by now if the issue was that big.

is absolutely crazy. I cannot believe people are saying they should make the wards even bigger. Do they honestly want to search through a laggy sea of hundreds of retainers every time they want to buy EVERY SINGLE ITEM?? Ugh.
Similarly, instead of:
1) Look up item in list
2) Check current going rate
3) List item
I cannot believe some people prefer
1) Look up item in list
2) Check current going rate
3) Try and work out which ward to sell in for best returns
4) Spend time warping to ward
5) Spend time summoning retainer
6) Spend time opening retainer menu
7) Spend time transferring items to retainer
8) Spend time putting item up to sell
I just don't know why people who support this exist.
also true but what I was pointing out is it is 2 retainer's per Player character so in the market wards alone the server "population" is doubled on the market ward server

The market wards will become much like an AH in due time, just with many retainers, not one counter. Lets try something different shall we?
Guys please stay on topic. We don't need another thread about the shortcomings of certain design concepts. This isn't what I intended lol, although I should have seen this happening.
This is strictly about the instability of the market wards. If it's a problem with such a low population now, what's going to happen at ps3 release? Barely anything has been done to fix it so far and yet we've been hearing about how it's been planned for a while now.
The devs are extremely busy with fixing this game, I know that. I also know that we're still essentially BETA testing, free of charge. But an unstable market system is a huge problem and I would like to know what is being planned to fix this and in what sort of time frame.
The problem is unfixable. However you look at it, a sea of 100s of retainers in one place is never going to be a viable system.
