People will no stack WHM in 24 man content. SCH/WHM is King forever.

While I would agree with that to an extent in that we aren't purely preventative healing like you might see in other MMOs, we are still nowhere near as reactive as a WHM. I don't agree with you putting so much stock in using just Adlo to prevent damage.

A great bit of SCH preventative "healing" comes from Sacred Soil (noticeable party mitigation), Virus and Eye for an Eye (use in heavy dps phases), blind from Ruin II (did you know you can blind Titan HM mountain busters, causing them to entirely miss?). None of these skills are traditional heals or shields, but each one reduces the amount of damage your tank or party takes. Each can mitigate thousands if used properly in a raid.

Prepping for a primal aoe (ie Titan Earthern Fury) with a sacred soil, with virus up on Titan, and a Succor shield on your entire party is nothing like what a WHM does. Or look at the coil example above my post. I'd say that's pretty solid preventative healing.

24M I believe isn't actually 24M, but instead 8M x 3. So this is a non-issue.

I believe it is only 8 man x 3 during parts of it. The rest will be 24 man. If not there is no reason for it not to just be an single 8 man dungeon.

As far as I know, while 24 is the amount of players the place is intended for, the players will be split into three groups of 8 players each to make the UI not be an awful mess. Thus why people are assuming that AoE heals and such will affect 8 people at most, rather than 24.

I mean, I wasn't joking when I was asking about how much aggro a Medica II would draw on 24 players. I can't see any tank actually maintaining aggro against that. :p

While I find Sacred Soil to be not very useful in most situations in dungeons on it's own, the places I find it shines most are in massive unavoidable damage, like in all of the Primal fights. In Ifrit and Garuda when they do their party wide AoE attacks, I always try to time Virus+Eye for an Eye before they do them, then get everyone to stack inside SS and Succor everyone, and it prevents a TON of damage stacked, if everything works properly. Same with Titan's stomps, when it starts to get intense, although since I'm not very experienced with that yet I don't know if it's better to save those cooldowns for Mountain Busters or Stomps.

But in a lot of cases with the 50 content, I just don't know the fights well enough to use these cooldowns as effectively as I should be I suppose. I think I'm just a little bitter about a few things, namely our Adlo bubble effect and Crit. I really like how this works, the double bubble if it crits, but having only ONE spell - Adlo - that benefits from it, it feels to me almost like a wasted mechanic. I know our fairy can give us a bit of spell speed when she crits, but I think if more of our abilities had a Crit effect, it would go a long ways to truly setting us apart from WHMs.

Scholars rock. I have both whm and scholar at 50, at coils turn 5. I like my sch, my healing partner likes her whm together we kick ass. All 3 of our current coils groups are structured that way, our fourth starts on Monday it also has sch/whm healing.

All current 4 man dungeon content is easy mode on either class, but I like my scholar. I just cleric stance dps 99% of the instances. Comments that suggest scholars can struggle in any 4 man content are seriously mistaken. I can be spirit binding full sets of craft gear and still have time to dps.

sch+whm = win in all 8 man content without exception.

As an FC we will be rolling crystal tower with 3whm 3sch. Who care about succor failing to stack. hardly relevant when u can adloqium pre arranged tanks nd 1 sch succor the rest of the group, whilst the other drops soil. assuming that u can interact with the other 8mans ofc, given the possible threat issues


Communication guys, healers should be talking

I am a whm and I notice every time I have a good sch with me. The whm/sch will never be beat for a few simple facts that I have experianced. We can keep the party at near full heath a lot easier with my hots and sch shields. Massive damage spikes are a lot better managed. And when mistakes happen (someone eats an aoe) we have better odds of healing them back up before an aoe kills them.

while a whm/whm can work. without lots of communication and trading heals we both either over heal, one of us burns though mp with wasted heals, or has to spend more time on mp regen then with a whm/sch.


And i did lvl/gear up a sch just to see how the healing changes. The only complaint i had about sch was that there is not pet macro options to make combination healing more effective. If the buff or nerf anything it will ruin both classes. The change they should make is that you can macro the pet skills and actions.

One last point. Is that a lot of healers get lazy, both whm and sch. They do not try to learn the fight, anticipate damage, or plan out healing to make use of time between damage spikes. So i ask those who would want to buff/nerf either class to actually find a good player and see for your self what a good healer is capable of.

So I've been seeing alit of people not know how to get passed the 1000 character limit on forum posts. You just pot everything you want, when you exceed 1000 just cut what you wrote until it's under 1000 then edit your post and paste it back. If it's edited then it can go passed 1000 characters. Spread the word

Scholars are much more effective if you plan ahead.

Aetherflow gives 3 stacks, so you have 1min in which you can use 3 skills. In titan for example I might save 1 for Lustrate on a Mountain Buster if needed. 1 for Sacred Soil on tumults and the third is optional, maybe I want a bit of mana back if I'm using a few Succors, maybe the tank will need another Lustrate.

Know when those tumults hit, put down Soil, move pet to center of arena, Rouse, activate Fey Illumination and let her blow Whispering Dawn with +40% and +20% healing. You and WHM also get the benifit of +20% healing so Succor heals/blocks more and Medica II heals more.

Plan, plan, plan.

WHM's just go, "oops bars are getting to the left, which of my 99 heal spells shall I use?" lol
