Lol some people here are acting like this is the price of private housing. This is for your Free Company, 850k (if that is the number) can hardly be said to be a lot of gil for a FC.

Making gil in this game is piss easy anyway !

Basic housing should be a basic service, not a luxury. You should be able to get your hut for say 10K gil. Now if you want the McMansions, they can charge 5 or 50 million gil or $50 or whatever they think people are willing to pay and that's up to them. But everyone should be able to have access to some kind of ghetto housing.

and player housing wont be out for at least what 7-8 months at best? According to the responses they said that player housing wouldn't be released until half a year after 2.1 ... and who knows when 2.1 will actually be released.

I have the gil, perhaps I'm just cheap but that seems like an awful lot for a moghouse (FFXI reference) sized house.

The only accomplishment involved in getting a house, is to simply grind up the ridiculous pay wall. What accomplishments are you displaying exactly?

Most other games, make housing accessible, because it's there to be enjoyed. Make the decorations reflect effort. Unique trophies, etc. Don't make getting a house outside the reach of most players. Remember, the number one complaint is lack of things to do at end game. So why take what could be a huge end game activity and hide it behind a joyless, unobtainable (for most) pricetag?

Also you're making a lot of assumptions and acting as if seeing houses of inactive players in any way ruins your game. As if most people even pay attention to that.

They already do. It's called the inn. This housing system is a luxury item. So it fits in with your description.

Yeah I'm totally sure you'd be able to put furniture in the inn when the housing comes live so that it fits the 'basic housing' that I just described. Also that patch will probably solve the server lag too.

Yes, i thought this was for player housing. I don't have a FC so no worries for me i guess. And 7 months for player housing? Guess i assumed too much when they said housing would be here in 2.1. Disappointing honestly, doubt i'll be here by the time it's released. But i guess we never know.
