You must be a new gamer then. Try playing final fantasy 7. It is claimed to be the best and it is sans vo. And Zelda OoT is the best Zelda which never had vo. Still doesn't have vo. And people love the game.

I think that more voice overs in the cut-scenes would be awesome. Specifically, more voice overs in the main plot quest, and in the job quests. Regular NPCs, side quests, and characters that don't talk in actual cut-scenes, no thank you. I can read much faster than I can listen to someone speak, and I don't want to be stuck waiting.
I'm not going to lie, when I started playing XIV I hated it. After spending a fair amount of time playing, I have grown fond of it. All of the little problems that are in the game are just that. Little problems. So we don't have voice overs, or there is copious amounts of text. Oh well, we have to deal with it and enjoy it. I mean don't we play to enjoy it anyway? Don't read too much into this, just the ramblings of a madman...
I just enter-enter-enter everything but the main story and job quests, so far so good. They heard we wanted lore and backstory... and they gave us blah-blah-blah.
I grew up on JRPGs and PCRPGs, and books, so I don't mind reading at all, except that I want to read about awesome epic events that shaped the world, the backstory of evil empire guys, maybe a hint or two about the mysteries of the world. I don't give a spoon about why I have to kill 9 chigoes, or collect buffalo dung, or kill stupid furballs for some ultimately inconsequential easter event.
And that's why I don't read all that trivial, worthless info, or care if they add voice to it.
Autsiogo you are out of line! I'm telling on you for being mean!
