Will FFXIV's failure be a key to it's success?

I can see it slow building up to what FFXI had in it's hayday, I think there's enough potential in the game for that, but we're still a long ways away from that.

If we ever get to the game being a 10 it will be all up to SE;s skills in marketing and promoting to try and bring those people back.
