Scob noob here. Just cleared t6. I can't get a fix video wise on what we do as melee concerning t7. Is it spank boss move to adds then resume on boss? I'm trying too see what our responsibilities are melee wise. YouTube not helping

Yep. Face out for voice (triangle) / petrifaction and hide behind renauds when you have shriek (circle). Aside from those mechanics, which everyone has to deal with, it's just tank and spank with adds. Also, for DRG, you could stay on boss a little longer with shriek and use EJump to get to the renauds, assuming they're placed correctly.
Voice, Shriek and Petrifaction used to turn you to glass, which anything would one-shot, but it's been nerfed to a 10s petrify debuff. Renauds would also one-shot players but they too were nerfed. So, yeah, it's a cake walk. Just watch out for your classic telegraphed AoEs.
Do any of you feel that there's a minimum threshold of skill speed that should be reached to have a "safe" rotation? I remember a discussion about the drop of Heavy Thrust buff just upon reapplying Heavy Thrust, but I don't remember how that ended.
I'm not sure what others feel about it. So far for final coil I prefer as little as possible (my BiS sheet has only one piece with skillspeed if I recall correctly). During progression on second coil I preferred keeping my GCD anywhere between 2.41-2.44. There was a metric shitton of it on HA and sol gear anyway and made it easy to hit that. I liked it for second coil because I was concerned about mechanics breaking up my rotation (thorns and briar method on t6, voices and shrieks in t7, every single jump nael does in t9 -.-).
So far in final coil (working on last phase of t11) less is definitely more from what I've seen. From what I've seen of videos in t13 I might elect for some SS again but I'm not sure yet.
Otherwise I'm currently rocking a 2.5 GCD and haven't had an issue with my rotation timers.
EDIT: I remember trying a stacked skill speed build a very long time ago and my numbers went down a bit, on turn 8 it was brutal with TP. The amount of crit/det lost in stacking skill speed was personally painful to see :P
I may have been the only one who said anything about that ._.;;
At base skill speed (341), you can still get it, definitely. It'll just be less safe than with more skill speed if there is a delay in your GCD usage for any reason whatsoever (but this is a problem you should be used to avoiding as a DRG anyway). There is a neat thing about having no skill speed: all the cooldowns come up at the right time. No need to wonder whether you can pop it without delaying your GCD, because it won't!
But ruby accessories come with skill speed, so seeing as to how I'm using those for T13 right now, I suppose I'm not dropping it for a while.
Hey guys, i'm from the german forum, may my english isn't the best ^^
my main is healer, but i really like to play my dragoon. And i've learned a lot now from the first post, thx for this detailed guide :)
my question is now, how much determination is 1 strength? is it possible to calculate that or something?
and is det to dex, or det to mind always the same value?
Dex means a big load of nothing for dragoon. Anyway, the stat values for up to 2.4 were:
Weapon Damage: 8.732
Strength: 1
Determination: .325
Crit: 0.204
Skill Speed: .178
I do not know if any of those changed at all with the new gear from 2.4 or not. If they did change then it would only be very slight and you can still use that as a base guideline.
