Oh my gosh, I LOVE the "Rinoa is Ultimecia" theory and ranted about it quite fervently back in the old days, lol. If they ever do an FFVIII remake they ought to make this canon, even if it's just in a new secret sidequest or something. If I recall, a lot of the evidence was circumstantial at best, but in my opinion it makes the story a lot better and explains some things that don't otherwise make sense.

the rinoa is ultimecia was snuffed out by square producer Yoshinori Kitase
He said basically it was a cool idea but not canon and they aren't the same person and the only similarities is that they are witches
