People can be reported yes, but how many times are they actually banned? They get warnings before they can actually get banned, meanwhile they already did the damage to the "bad players", if people keep getting moaned at, they'll give up on the game, people don't come here for some random person to tell them how they should play the game.

Anyway there's no point talking to you, you just reply to whatever you can put an argument on and skip most stuff and then even say i attack people and you are mature while you do those things, i guess mature in your dictionary has a different meaning.

I don't raid because I don't find predictable fights difficult, nor are the rewards particularly worth the time. Fights that are mapped down perfectly to the gcd with no possible change are neither fun, nor challenging, in my opinion. If it can be mapped out to the tiniest detail, it's formulaic, and if it's formulaic, it's predictable.

I'm not entirely pro or anti parser, but all I'm seeing is that some people believe that a person'should feelings are the most important thing.

It's a very poor argument to say we shouldn't have something because someone's feelings might get hurt, or that others may abuse it.

I think that it would be even safer with the new raid system that they are proposing. Personal parser for trials and raids (because dumb people in PF and creator difficulty raids - so PF again), and public parser for "extremely savage" (?) raids (the third tier that they proposed)

Your comments again demonstrate that you have no idea about savage tier raiding. Are there predictable portions to the fights? Absolutely. Are the savage versions less predictable than normal? Absolutely. The majority of people looking for in-game parsers want to have access to improve themselves to a point where they can enter savage, or are already doing savage and just want to get better at their roles. I haven't seen a single response saying "I want a parser so I can kick scrubs in ex roulette."

Yes, I would love one built into the game.
I don't care if it's personal or shows everyone, though everyone is preferred.
Let me see Damage done, Taken, Healing, Overhealing, everything Recount has.

Here's another alternative then:

After every "hard" content in the game, display the fight information similar to what PvP has after a clear, time-out OR possibly after every new encounter (AKA wipe). You know, healed, damage done, damage taken, deaths, misses; add in overhealed. I mean, if PvP can have this information, why can't the PvE have it as well? The Feast even has a ranking system that is track-able; they could totally find a way to make a ranking system similar to fflogs. Looking at you PotD.

This game is heavily relying on dps checks, so i dont know any good reasons to not have parsers tbh..

If you in anykind of content where u fail on a dps check, they devs tell you to get better. So why not tell the player this direclty when many of the players dont get this?

You'd be surprised how people can still fail scripted events. A9S itself it heavily scripted, A10S seems to have variation from my experience. And the gear is only to push the next tier, min/max or get a head start augmenting.

I would love an ingame parser. Would be nice to see how i am improving if only be a few dps at a time

Also, another thing to take into consideration, a lot of these parsers come with extra features that make it insanely helpful to players. Things like the ability to search through your battlelog and see exactly where someone messed up and how. Timers, for fights as well as personal skills for better recognition. While being able to see your damage and other teammates as well, parsers outside the game will always be a thing as long as they are not provided in the game itself.

I think the log thing is more if you upload to a certain site (can make the log private). I myself haven't used that bit, but it is indeed nice to analyze a static and point out errors for the next run.

Looking through his posts, I can't for the life of me imagine why he'd have been banned. This all looks as benign as any other poster, more so than many others. Is it just because of this thread, I wonder?

Sure why not, but make it so that you're only one person that can see it and not everyone else.

Make a personal parser for dungeon and normal trials, but also put vague details of what sort of dps you should be doing with your Ilvl or for the dungeon itself.

"You did 3000 dps, average for x is 3200 dps".

If there was anything incriminating, forum moderators probably removed it, to be fair. Can’t imagine why he was banned though.

As for parsers, my stance has always been there should be an in-game one. PFs should have a toggleable feature for a group parser, and an icon in the PF alerting people that parsers will be used in that group, in the even they object.

If the community wants one, they should have it. I think any form of callout or overlay software would be bad, though.

However, the community must be responsible and own the fact that, as we are now, it will not be used to help players. It will be to avoid the threat of being banned for saying you are kicking people for low dps and select players out of a pool. That will mean less raid participation, and with the danger we start selecting in casual content too. They will be a much harder form of exclusion than gear checks in PF are. If ppl dont realize this and try to counter or mitigate these things, it will hurt players a lot. Everything will be skip soar.

Honestly, DPS checks get tighter and tighter as SE comes up with new ways to challenge the community. At the very least, it should be available for raids where enrage timers are present.

No, it needs to be in the game period so everyone can see before they hit the raids what they're doing (not that they're ever going to put it in the game). Console players shouldn't have to rely on PC players to tell them what's going on.

I have yet to see anyone seriously consider that if a lot of people had struggled to do what they find basic, maybe that thing isn't all that basic after all. People who are good at something generally suck at being unbiased at a thing's difficulty level, because they can't separate their particular talent from the thing being done.

I learned how to do the HW Dragoon rotation in less than a week simply through looking up Youtube videos. What's stopping anyone else from doing the same? A basic opener wouldn't even entail the more advanced micromanagement people do like shifting around Blood for Blood for that extra 20ish DPS. It's literally the very basics of how to play your job. Hate to say it but you have no business being in EX Primal fights if you can't do the basics of your job.

This is untrue. When it comes to damage, I'm usually in the top 3 spots in most PUG content I do. That at least puts me above average and my gear isn't all that great. Yet I know people who without any disability would not be capable of finishing some of the MSQ solo duty's. Meaning unless they committed the bannable offense of letting someone play their account, they would never SEE the content you all are arguing about.

I know that 'basic' things we take for granted are beyond some people. I get that.

But you know what? Am I going to ask SE to make the MSQ easier for those players. Players I even consider long time friends? Absolutely not. Am I going to expect this community to coddle such players (in the event they get 'lucky' and make it to PUG'd content where people are using parsers to measure one another)? Absolutely not.

The reason for this is there is a general baseline expected. In Super Mario Bros. that's akin to getting past the first Goomba. You know there is a ton of people who haven't and cannot do that? Was that fixed? Nope. Sometimes when a game is simply too challenging for a player either because of how bad they are or because of disability, it just simply isn't meant for them.

Ironically, FFXIV isn't one of the easiest MMORPGs out there. Its baseline is quite a bit higher than other games in the genre. Its also one of the more popular games despite having a sub attached. One could argue if they lowered the baseline, it would attract more. Well.. I disagree. The baseline was more or less kept the same from HW to SB, and maybe even raised in some aspects (I'd have loved to see the shenanigans with Shinryu when most were in 290 gear).

But the weird part is how much people get ill around being measured. And the belief that a tool makes people into jerks. People are already jerks. They were a jerk before a parser, with a parser, and even if its banned. The only difference is without parsers the jerks with low parses can blame others for their low outputs. I see this far more often than the high parsing player harassing others. Its a little funny to see the 200DPS> parsing monk in Syrcus Tower complaining about a slow boss when the majority are 500+. I see this happen once a week.

But I'm not allowed to correct him while he harasses people in other alliances. That just doesn't make sense.

But what is described here as "basic" is the baseline set by the content itself through DPS checks. If you're unable to perform your opener and basic rotation in a dummy situation (which 1st phase of Zurvan is), you won't have enough DPS to clear the fight - or even the fight's SSS doll probably. If you're not on this level, you have no business in this content (since you're simply making others to carry your weight), and need to practice more before participating. And the fact doesn't change no matter how many players are below this level.

Most jobs you should be able to work out a fairly good rotation just by looking at the tooltips and applying some logic.

You will unlikely come up with the 'perfect' opener or rotation, but it should be enough.

One of the Trials has a mechanic early on that could be skipped at its release.
Some parties had dps players that weren't particularly experts at their job and didn't do enough damage quick enough to skip it.



Thus, people started making party finders for it and then disbanding the party if the group didn't skip that mechanic, stating 'Skip Soar' in the party finder description.
Regardless of the difficulty of actually performing the soar mechanic.
