In a perfect case scenario when this happens, harder challenges would be introduced.But i see your point, even if i dont agree with it , mainly becouse i never really enjoyed my 3 months camping KB for the damned ring or the 2 speed belts i got.Bigest waste of my life right there, personally i would not want to repeat that.

No, if it is really hard, casual players might even take years to get it, like rdm AF2.

I don't see what is wrong with casual people eventually getting great items, you elites will get it much faster anyway, there is no need to block access to the normal people who don't have time to spend 3hrs "waiting"

I use to NM hunt in XI but it was more for fun rather than the items I would look for NM's no one cared about and hunt them with friends rather than stress over 5 NM everyone else hunted. My best NM memories were the random encounter ones where I had no idea of the mob's lvl or anything. Guides made FFXI boring.

I camped KA for 2 years before I got a belt for my NIN. I never felt like I wasted anything. I felt unlucky, but accomplished. Something I haven't felt in this game at all.

RDM AF2 wasnt hard, was limited to doing it X amount of times per week and low drop rate...my entire POINT.

Getting the TOD then hoping someone in your LS doesnt F you over because the mithra in the LS turns out to be a real girl. (Happened 13 times)

EDIT: This is also when everyone wanted Joytoy so fighting with people for the POP as well.
