Please look at Guild Wars 2 (and not just the WoW generation of MMO's) for inspiration; i.e. region-based questing, level sync, random events, fast-pace battle, world design, etc.
GW2 has suprassed (in my opinion) other games well into a more streamlined MMO experience branching out from the sea of MMO's that are currently using WoW as a model. I'm having a lot of fun playing that game at the moment... I just wish it was Final Fantasy.

In respect to class/job balance, will FFXIV mimic the industry leader (Blizzard) with a "Bring the player, not the class" mentality?
-
Will classes be getting anything to help them stand out from their jobs, like skills only classes can use?
-
will we get open world content like guild wars 2, contet we can just walk into and get a quest automatically as long as were in proximity of it?
-
Can we have a definite confirmation that we will be able to change our character's name, gender and appearance? And will we be able to change servers at ARR launch? Yoshi-P seemed a bit hesitant and reluctant on some of those aspects in the past.
-
About player housing. Will we only get either personal housing or free company estate shared by the entire free company? Or are we getting both? And will we be able to invite people to visit our personal house and show it off?
-
Will the Nov 11th Event be "live" only at a certain time or will we be able to experience it at any time that day?
-
When will a list of items that can only be obtained in 1.xx be released?
-
When do you plan to release new jobs coming from classes we already have in game?
-
Will it be possible to craft or gather (such as dig up in treasure hunting) rare, non tradable items for ourselves in 2.0? Currently only battle classes seem able to get those sort of things 99% of the time.
PS to other players reading and posting in this thread: Please read the entire thread. While asking previously asked questions again may be faster and easier, you're effectively lessening it's chance to be asked by not combining all votes for the same question in the same question. 5 people might vote for it the first time, 3 the second and 7 the last, but 15 all on one instance of the question is so much more effective. Please don't repeat questions that have already been asked. It's an important point to consider if you really want the question to be asked.
PPS: PS notes don't get votes, questions get votes. Please don't "like" this post because you want people to stop repeating questions, only "like" it if you want Yoshi&co to talk about non tradable items not gained through combat. Thank you.
