Mine... was a huge gamble that paid off.
Rhaja was the name of my Fiance's favorite cat when we started dating. During a move from her parents to our own place he felt abandoned and ran away. We spent several days search for him, but ultimately determined he found himself a new home (he was a very good hunter and gentleman of a cat)
I was trying to think of a name for a Miqo'te and decided to take a chance as a... "now you can go on adventures with Rhaja" idealism. Thankfully enough time passed and she was more moved by the gesture than upset by it.
I later found out it meant King or ruler XD

Jin-
Shortened version of "Jindae" name i used in the past. I wanted some name which can fit both sexes without it sounding strange, so i dropped the "dae" part out many years ago. In Japan "Jin" is name for male and in the west it can fit female also, or so i personally think (all my characters are female).
I am male and i decided some time ago that "Jin" is gonna be my real world name also after i get enough courage to change my name and survive the paper/ID change war :)

I'm too lazy to answer that question.

Selli is a childhood nickname of mine. It's short for my real name, which is Selina. I use it in basically every video game ever because I'm not original, lol.
My last name was originally Esylenna, which I got after fiddling around with my middle name. I couldn't think of a good last name, so I just spelled my middle name backwards, it looked really awkward so I switched some letters around. I really like how Esylenna sounds.
And then when I married my boyfriend's character in game (I had asked him if I could use his last name when I first started playing, he repeatedly told me no. I ended up stealing it in the end anyway, it only cost me 10$ XD) I changed my last name to Noblus. I think he said it's like a play on the word 'noble'.

The influence. What can I say, I love the show and she is my favorite, granted this was chosen upon Closed Beta and wouldn't mind a more original name but I'm not going to pay for it.

Key is for key, lus is for luz (light). It is supposed to mean "key of light". I used "lus" instead of "luz" because in that way it can be used in the second declension of latin
I invented the name 10 years ago when I was obsessed with kingdom hearts, since then I use it as my nick
I want to change my character's name for a more Lala fitting name. I wasted my free fantasia just to see that it doesn't work with the name.

I use a lot of characters from Star Trek as my first names, then I just come up with a Surname that seems to fit or rolls off the tongue:
Vash Meridian (Vash was a character from Star Trek The Next Generation)
Ziyal Cordane (Ziyal was Gul Dukat's daughter from Star Trek Deep Space Nine)

The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

Sakuraya - picked the name after an alt that is a RP character I rp'ed at a point. They are known as 'very kind and will help others', and also 'reflects gentleness', since I'm know as the mother of the FC and known to be motherly - it fit well, plus I think it's a lovely name. :)
Kai - I love the meaning on this name - its 'ocean' in Hawaiian and I love water. It's also 'forgiveness' in Japanese. It's also the name we plan on giving our son or daughter when they are born.

Really liked the character Saphir/Sapphire from Sailor Moon's Dark Moon Family arc back in highschool, so my friends nicknamed me Saffire/Saffie-chan (spelled that way intentionally). Named my Tarutaru Whm/Blm "Saffire" on the Phoenix server (was kinda shocked it wasn't taken, even with the spelling it's typically taken anywhere on the net). Knew I was gonna be a Tarufell in FFXIV, and wanted to carry the legacy forward while also giving it a new spin to reflect the change (almost like my character was being Reborn, years before Eorzea was!), and decided to look up the Japanese word for "Sapphire", which supposedly is Seigyoku. I didn't really -want- a second name, so that one didn't get as much thought; I was really into the Legend of the Seeker series at the time and really liked 'Cypher' as a surname, so, there you have it.
