I think I'm just tired of npc portraits for the walls. A lightly animated ghostly Edda portrait that keeps an eye on you might be neat though.

Would love anything that involve Edda. Would be great if we can place retainer inside the house already, my Edda-retainer would love to haunt the house! XD
One more request, can we get the hanging corpse from the Palace of the Dead floor 91-99 set as a in-house lighting please? Hanging corpse and dim yellow light would match the PotD wallpaper and flooring perfectly imo.
Would love more spooky furniture.
How about some faux tiling rugs to give kitchen/bathroom/etc flooring areas a little different look without changing the entire floor.
Can we have more basic furniture now?
I mean, we got a basic rug this patch, finally something without tons of crazy colorful designs on it, although it is absolutely unaffordable to pretty much everyone
But it exists! So more basic stuff? Like basic white wallpaper, for example..? :p
(no I won't stop asking for this xD)
Yay for double posts, but I just thought of this:
Wouldn't it be neat if our ootdoor ponds had the functionality of the aquariums inside?
It could be limited to XS and S (and maybe M?) size fish, but that way you could have a nice koi carp pond and the like! :o
(size limit because for bigger fish we'd need higher water levels than the ponds have)
Could we have the new stage furnishings act as a floor instead of a table?
Ok just saw the holiday post for winter veil which has 3 new holiday themed furnishings. It's great but we all know they won't be available next year so people will be stockpiling them. This got me to thinking about all the hundreds of furniture recipes, drops, and quest rewards we all have and usually multiples of. We have no where to put it and they just keep adding more. It makes no sense for SE to keep adding new furnishings but never upgrading our storage or furniture limits. What I think would be the most important and best addition for housing would be a storage device for furnishings. Whether it's a new tab in the armoire for used furnishings or a brand new storage device, the fact is we need it.
How about adding some playability to the musical instruments? Samples for each instrument that could be controlled with a MIDI instrument for instance?
After having tried my hand at making the new snow patches into one big one for covering my garden and noticing how it really did not work, an idea came to mind. Why not add "flooring" for the gardens?
Say your house is in The Goblet, and you'd like it to be a fully sandy desert type garden. Or you want it to be covered in snow, maybe tall grass and so on.
I would love it atleast
It's funny I was just thinking about this the other day. Adding something like this would be a cool feature and would really compliment the lawn pieces. I have a house in Goblet and it literally looks weird with a giant blob of snow on nice green grass, it just doesn't look right.
I think I'd just like more pictures for our walls. Redecorating my small home made me realize how little there is in the way of wall decorations. Please make more cityscapes, night skies, flowing meadows, fish, sunsets, ANYTHING for our walls.
I also think a decorative mannequin to keep with our favorite set of in game clothes would be pretty cool. I'd love to display some of my favorite dresses or outfits in my house on it.
Koi or living fish to place in our garden ponds!
Also to help our living areas seem alive, the ability to let a chosen minion walk around inside our house, maybe even a pet bed and food trays to feed them with. It adds personalization and life to our homes.
I'd like to see a feature to station minion/s in a house and have them roam around :p
It's a small detail but it would be cool to have a sort of house 'pet'/minion
Propably posted a gazillion times before, but what I would wish for so badly would be:
- Room partitions that automatically take the interior wall texture
- Door partitions that automatically copy the interior wall texture
My idea how this would be doable is making the object consist of 2 textures:
1. One texture that is the door, while the rest is left transparent
2. One texture pointer that points towards the wall texture
What I'd also love would be an additional slot in the interiors menu for the room pillars. It looks so inconsistent, when you create a room in Allagan/Alexandrian style, while the pillars are still made of wood.
Dunno if some person suggest it either but.
The possibility of moving a house would be great.
By that i mean for exemple, you have a S one and want a M one.
Funitures goes in the npc that keep object like for auto demolition. Object that can't be move like walls get in the new randomly (if you don't lose it you can move it where you want a bit, that's my point as some items are fairly expensive).
For fc house, things like ship and rooms be transfered as is.
And paying the whole price of the house I suppose.
The problem actualy is that if a person want to move houses, well it's impossible without the possibility to lose everything.
It's on their list, though haven't heard anything about it recently and no specifics have been given as to what the moving feature will actually do. What we the players think something will be (especially after the time it takes) and what the devs give us can often be worlds apart from each other.
While I love the cute and funny Moogle, Chocobo, and Paissa houses, could we maybe see more serious houses? Like maybe we can have an Ishgardian Brume house and an Ishgardian Pillar house, or maybe a house that looks like a fort or fortress?
A suggestion to set a goal of 100 items for Appartments/FC rooms, 200 for small, 450 for med, 1000 for large, 2k for XL, and 4k items for XXL housing.
And, to add a terrace/balcony for FC rooms in large+ housing plots. The background outside will be prerendered with maybe some randomized events ("Unhand that Lalafel you vile cloudkin" while chasing after it), but not using full sized character models or by using cartoonish game pieces.
EDIT: Has anyone suggested cabinets for housing yet, because that would be a really cute addition for kitchens?
Would like to be able to set my Animals/dolls in my garden or house, they are useless in my pockets, and seeing them "run" in my garden could be nice !
Also, can we please get a way to apply the interior wall on partitions we have on the same level? Decorating around that is annoying. :B
And allow us to hang pictures on the chimney and place things on the mantle, instead of making us glitch it...
Coffee tables would be so cute.
I know I'm spamming this thread but can we get a proper over-head view when placing furniture? It would make placing things down so much easier then trying to haphazardly flail the mouse or joysticks around.
We could use the outside furniture inside and the interior furniture outside, it would be interesting to make an indoor garden, or even people living in apartments could plant things!
Also we would have more options to decorate our houses, like making terraces more elegant, etc.
I also support, that they should put styles of houses more serious, because those of Moggle / Chocobo (and future Paissa) I do not like :/ or even remove the restriction to use all other styles of house / windows / doors / fence
BEAN BAGS D:
After seeing all the pictures of Dun Scaith, I would like some Dun Scaith housing items, like an exterior, a fence, those streetlamps, the roses, etc.
Assuming I haven't been paying attention, and we can do this already, dying wallpapers would be grand.
Basically because the current wallpaper selection is somewhat limited.
What i would really really love is to have a Small Ranch house where everyone in the Ward could stable their chocobo and let me take care of it... Maybe 2 garden plots to keep up the amount of Carrots needed. That would just make me happier than anything.
Allow us to "upgrade" our workshops. Maybe speak to an npc or something and allow us to make it a crafting hub. Turn in the craft boosting furniture to the npc and their effects get added to the workshop, giving you the buffs as long as you are in there. Maybe a quest to add a market board in there. Skrip-like items to expand the rigging of our ships. Really upgrade the thing.
It would be a nice QoL improvement to have a separate menu for items like the glade/riveria/oasis partitions, the mahogany door, and pillars could be alternatively used without consuming space. And, allow players to control the length of the walls, placement of the doors, and the number and placement of ceiling fans in houses/apartments, et cetera.
This post might be a long one.. So be forewarned. I am also not entirely sure how much this thread gets looked at by the devs but I will add the stuff I want changed.
1. PvP and/or indoor striking dummy
Regarding indoor PvP, obviously this would be enabled/disabled by the estate owner etc. It would allow people to create their own "arenas" in their houses so they can spar with friends, instead of being forced to use the rather bland area in wolves den.
Regarding the indoor striking dummy, I prefer to practice out of the prying eyes of other people at times - especially when I am trying out a new job. An indoor striking dummy would be very useful for this as you could lock the house to outsiders and practice in the comfort of your own home.
(Plus it would be nice to be able to fight in my dojo!)

2. Keep bringing on the eastern themed / oriental stuff!
A few ideas:
Outdoor
- Small, garden pagoda. Something like this:
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...37c2a59b08.jpg
- A Shinto-style archway..
https://media1.britannica.com/eb-med...4-1D8AA311.jpg
Indoor
- Katana rack / display
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...55f46caa74.jpg
- Training / wooden weapon rack.
3. Remove the wooden backing / sides from the aquariums.
It would be lovely to be able to see straight through the fish tank instead of having that ugly / plain wooden backing. Fish tanks are made of glass! Not wood! The only way around this is to clip the back panel into the wall (if your fish tank is against the wall), however at times this is not possible. Especially if you wish to use the fish tank as a centre-room feature.
4. Allow clipping through the weird "shelf" in the "hole in the wall" on the top floor of Lavender mansions
I can only speak for Lavender as from what I can recall, Mist and Goblet are a little different.. Though I would have a guess that those with Goblet/Mist mansions have a similar problem..
The strange "hole in the wall" section on the upper floor is interesting at times, but an absolute pain to work with a lot of the time. The biggest issue with it is the lower "shelf" section sticks out from the wall. So if you wanted to cover the hole with a bookshelf / partition / something - it won't let you push it hard up against the wall like you can on the normal part of the wall. This is a problem on both the balcony side of the hole and the room-side of the hole.

An alternative to this would be to add an extra section in the "Remodel Interior" that would allow for additional room/floor layout options. Perhaps adding a couple of variations of stairs would be nice too.
5. Fix the balcony door already.
It wouldn't be a housing request post without this. Make the balcony door functional, so we aren't forced to scale our house walls/roof to get onto the balcony like a burglar. I obviously don't know the technical side behind doing this but imagine that if you were able to make a front door function that way, you could add another "exit" that would place you on the balcony..
Who builds a mansion then throws away their key to one of their doors? It's almost like fake pockets on a pair of jeans. Why have something there that is meant to be functional, if it doesn't actually do anything?
6. Adjust the appearance of the outdoor ponds so that they don't look as tacky.
Due to the item allocation limit, it is far too item-intensive to put enough in those ponds to generate interest / make them less plain.. (It's night time in-game at the moment so this screenshot might be hard to see, but as an example...)

One suggestion would be do add an additional recipe that requires 1 pond + x number of a certain fish. If you craft that, then there are a few fish swimming around.
