MRD somehow still sounds a better tank than GLA.
This will depend greatly on two things. The first is whether or not they tweak the damage formulas to heavily weight Vitality. Having much higher VIT on PLD/GLA needs to outweigh the higher HP on MRD/WAR. Secondly, the new Emnity abilities need to be potent enough to outpace damage Hate over time. If both of those two requirements are met, I don't see why PLD/GLA can't be a much better tank than MRD/WAR.
Edit: On further thought, ideally, VIT will have a prominent scaling effect on Damage. In that way, hordes of easy enemies that are dangerous because of their numbers will be more easily handled by MRD/WAR due to it's high HP, meanwhile GLA/PLD with it's high VIT can easily shrug off heavy NM style damage.
Also, all the jobs are missing 10 traits. So there is a possibility that GLA/PLD will get better traits to make it more effective in tanking (ie: def/mdef boost, enm boosts, etc)
which is why they need to learn that we'd rather have all the information about one topic together? (assuming they are willing to give any information), at least on big things like this.
Personally I would've been okay to the idea of giving them more time to produce the "Classes abilities/traits changes" post in full and have the lesser information given out this past week. (IE: AH/search/item dying/etc)
Elemental magic on the Conjurer makes no sense at all. It's inclusion totally flattens class diversity among the magic classes. Please fix this to make sense with the jobs conj-->whm thm-->blm logic.
If they need more time to give us information, they should just tell us up front. Yes, it's annoying when things get delayed, but it's better for us to be aware of the delays up front rather than a wall of silence. The reason we were all clamoring for the information to be released was because they were about six weeks behind without any word on why. >_>
I really like what they have done with CNJ and THM. Splitting the elements the way they did was actually pretty clever of them I think. Yes CNJ by it's lore is very connected with the elements. But Earth, Wind and Water (if CNJ gets Water) makes a lot of sense because these are all associated with life. We live on the earth, grow our food from it, we breath the air, and water is necessary for life.
Fire and Ice are often associated with death and destruction. Lightning also is a very destructive force of nature. It makes sense going to the THM/BLM.
Love how they handled the re-assignment of spells for CNJ and THM. I think they pulled it off without destroying the lore. ^^
