To be fair you can only get banned if the person does something to bring attention to themselves, otherwise SE really does not care. Which is why personally this whole thing confuses me outside of extremely rare situtions people would not have any idea someone has the feature on or off, so wouldn't it be like modding just more available.

Right now, only a handful of people mod. There is a certain deterrent and you need to know where to find it and how to mod the files.
With such an option the amount of people using it would be orders of magnitude higher.

I still find the request nonsensical. I played MMOs before transmog/glamor was a thing and it was lame. Most of the time you ran around like a clown because stats > all.
Should SE have had some restrictions on the "leisure" and "humorous" gear from the start? Yes, I think so.

But to make such a fuss about it 6 years AFTER the fact is ... illogical.

I'm just glad that the posters against the idea do an excellent job at keeping the thread at the top of the page and ensure that more people see it and leave a like on the original post.

It is a nonsensical and implausible request that will never happen, and I honestly do not like using the word never, but in this case I do think it is safe to say. Though that is reason why I perosnally find the discussion interesting. Sadly, the modding community in this game is on the smaller side, and yes if such a feature was relased more people would use it. For me personally I do not see how the amount of people using a feature alters this situation.

I have no data but I just find it hard to think that if such a feature was implemented people would alter their behavior from how they did before regarding glamour and interactions. Do you think the community at large would shift to the assumption that vast majoirty use the feature? Cause personally that is really the only way I could see such a feature having a direct impact on people.

For the record my view is bias since I do not really care about glamour and I dress my character in things others would call ridiculous.

I understand, that makes sense. Though for others it might be as pointless, for me personally the topic is interesting, granted at this point in many other forums the moderators properly would tell those currently engaged to take it to private messages. Sadly we do not have that feature here.

The number of likes hardly matters since it can't be quantified or opposed directly with dislikes.

Been away, is that how they tread to break that plugin, that honestly does not change anything since the person that uses the plugin would still be able to use it, just would not be able to mark it for the rest of the group.

I still stand by SE does not care, because they straight up just threw every legitment use of using markers while in combat under the bus due to a knee jerk reaction. Do not want to derail the the thread and turn it into mods, plugin debate though.

As it stands they can plea with the community all the want to not use certain things, but without constant action and enforcment of their ToS, I do feel it safe to assume on a whole they do not care about the grey area all that much unless attention is brought to it, and SE feels it negatively impacts the game. In the case of this hypothcial feature I do not see how it would negatively impact the game, because I do not think the community at large would shift to the assumption that most people use said feature so what my character looks like does not matter anymore.

How is it "wrong" to want an optional feature that doesn't harm anyone? If wanting something like this is wrong then why not go to the male Viera thread and tell them all that they are wrong for wanting something that not everyone wants. 100 likes its a measly amount in the grand scheme of things. I think I saw someone throw out a number, 1.1 million active subs? Something like that. Not all of those people come on here so there's part of a missing demographic. And without a dislike option, there's another missing demographic. I'd be curious to see where this thread would fall if both were added into a grand total.

So when an idea that others think is "dumb" and "a waste of time" is posted on the forum as a theoretical option it garners backlash, yet when the devs. themselves release something without consulting the fanbase, i.e. umbrellas, that's not considered a waste of time or resources and is perfectly reasonable? People on here have a very screwy idea of what constitutes a waste of time and resources.

They're not wrong. Diversity of thought and diversity of opinion are invaluable concepts. The game already caters to many different types of players, many of whom never interact with each other. The proposed toggle only affects those who deliberately wish to go out of their way to force themselves on other players - which is a form of harassment.

There's been a lot of support for the proposal, regardless. A hundred likes is a pretty impressive feat - many threads do not reach such heights.

How is it a form of harassment to make glamours using the gear that SE has put in the game? I mean if someone wants to tank glamoured in the frog outfit idc - SE put it in the game. I have seen this a few times in this thread and I'm genuinely confused how this is seen as harassment.

If someone were to follow me around in-game in a frog suit simply to make a nuisance of themselves then I don't doubt that the GM's would intervene. That aside, branding people 'bigots' for not liking a particular type of fashion is also a type of harassment in itself - and a very troubling one, given that it devalues actual cases of bigotry.

Following someone around with the sole intention of annoying them (which would be harassment) is not the same as wearing an outfit that some either like or dislike which comes down to personal preference...which is not harassment. I think you need to learn the difference.

But I'm not being harassed by someone wearing something "controversial" (in quotes because that is subjective). I mean if they are chasing me I can reach out to a GM for harassment but the GM would take that harassment as them chasing me around, not because of what they are wearing.

You've missed the point entirely. People are getting upset at the thought of the developers wasting time with this "useless" idea because of other things that need to be improved yet actively welcome useless features such as umbrellas without hesitation. Why is it OK for the devs. to waste time on one useless idea, but not another?

I don't see how you feel that way. When Rash is following me in a dungeon, I always wonder where Pimple is.

According to the terms of service, dismissing people based on differing thinking, standards and morals is very much a case of harassment. The game excels at providing compromises to ensure that many different types of players get to tweak the game to their liking.

This suggestion is but another compromise. An optional feature that some people will use and others will not. It's much in the same vein as the easy mode for solo duties - I'd be willing to bet the majority of people playing this game have no need of such a feature...but it still helps make the game more enjoyable for the portion of players who do end up making use of it.

Their "logic" is exactly why I oppose this idea. Were it not for questionable defenses of the topic with even more questionable intentions I might ere on the side of supporting this. But I just can't because this is basically how it has been from the start.

I am not sure how prevalent this is, but I personally with some friends followed around someone after they made a comment regarding my friend pretending be to a male bunny. We said nothing just had him on follow with our bunny suits on. We did it to bother the person, and I could see how it could be considered a form of harassment since only way for them to avoid us was to log out, leave the town, or enter an instance.

The person did claim to report us, but nothing came about it since even though they made the request for us to stop we simply ignored them, did not say anything just followed him around. In certain situations I do think GM's have their hands tied given fringe cases of harrassment like following someone around in a certain outfit they have voiced to not like. But if this feature was a thing the implact from our side would be lessenend greatly because what we were wearing appeared to cause the person the most issue.

None of which are a great opinion for the person, but perfect for us since we got our laughs. Not saying what I did was right, but any reasonable person could see it as bothersome and possibly a form of harrassment. I am just not reasonable when it comes to people poking fun of those I know.

Granted it is possible the person never reported us, or the GM that read their report did not see any form of harrassment due to the fact nothing was said in game from our side.
