End of an Era Trailer

I saw some people speculating about the ending fitting so perfectly, it's almost like SE planned the game to fail from the start. I think the rough idea of Dalamud coming down and unleashing whatever is in there was there from the start. What SE didn't plan is the game failing part, simply because they lost so much money with this. It just doesn't make sense from the business standpoint. They probably planned we would stop the threat somehow, closing a history chapter and leading to the next expansion.

i love it... so moving and epic and the music is absolutely fantastic ^^

Just watched the Trailer again and damn IT WAS EPIC.

I honestly thinkthat despite the "horrible" "final event" this trailer was awesome, emotional and very very meaningful.

Someone made mention how many people were mocking it for being just like WoW's Cataclysm CGI.

Then someone made an even better point: This puts the Cataclysm CGI to shame.

Haha, also did anyone think of mentioning FFIX? when this kind of thing happened a lot (most notably Odin destroying Clayra)

Yep reading a lot of other sites comments that compare it to WoW or GW2 definitely never touched FF games before or think WoW was the one (as usual) to invent something in MMOs lol. It's pretty funny, especially since Cutscenes and classic FF storytelling is what made XI stand apart for example. While this is a much higher quality CS than ARR storyline will ever have, as long as it has the usual FF quality to it it's incomparable to other games.

I was, and am, terribly bothered by the feeling of hopelessness and utter defeat in the final CS. The music, the action, the finale, all of it was simply perfect. Days later, and I'm still reflecting on it and shaking off the emotional response the memory brings.

I try to refrain from using superlatives, but this was simply flawless, and the best I've ever seen. >.> It evokes memories of the shock and rage I felt as a kid when Sephiroth came down from the sky and murdered Aeris in cold blood.
