If you watch the video carefully, he is creating magical arrows around the enemy and knocking the one on his bow back, during the charge up the magical arrows also get knocked back and the one on his bow turns yellow like the others and then lets go firing all the magical arrows he created. When you really understand whats happening all together it makes for a pretty awesome WS. You could even think of it as him making multiple mirror images of his arrow, the one on his bow disappears when he fires it giving it the effect as if hes controlling all the images from a distance. It looks odd because normally an Archer would be farther and the whole of the animation makes sense if he was at a distance.Quote:

It's pretty obvious it was intended to represent an area attack centered around the target (as the weaponskill description... describes). Magical arrows manifest around the target, mimicking the one held, all simultaneously nock, and fire in all directions. It makes plenty of sense in a fantasy game setting.
If you're wondering how there could possibly be multiple arrows being fired without Multishot, you should take that up with Wide Volley. -

I think aiming up is just the general "im using a magical bow attack" thing. A lot of other games do it such as Reimi (did I spell that right?) from Star Ocean with her seraphic thunder attack. There's other examples but Star Ocean The Last Hope is just the game I'm replaying between studying at the moment. :p
Anyways I was a bit confused at first but after someone pointed out the whole magic arrows drawing back at same time as archer's arrow thing it makes sense and looks neat...though it doesn't get the priviledge of breakdancing while breaking people's necks. Get your mnk on~ -

I suppose that's where Endless' comment is a bit more relevant. Perhaps the upwards aim wouldn't look nearly as odd if there was some distance between her and the boar. At least that way you could assume the physical arrow was shot in an arch and not necessarily straight into the clouds.
