I know I'm just nitpicking here, but the Moonfire Faire does give a pair of shoes.

It's a really cute dyeable level 1 outfit that can be worn by all roles and all levels and it's available to everyone even those who don't have Stormblood. I'm sure it's well received by the community at large. I have the actual dungeon sets and I'm happy to have this one too. The event too is fun and actually made me spend time in costa which is seems i've always been too busy to take the time to do.
Moonfire Faire 2013: like 15 different swimsuits in various colors
Moonfire Faire 2014: Lord/Lady Yukata in 4 different colors, bomb dance emote, various furniture, all of the swimsuits from the previous year
Moonfire Faire 2015: Southern Seas and Striped Southern Seas swimsuits, all of the yukatas and swimsuits from the previous 2 years
Moonfire Faire 2016: Legacy Warrior armor, all of the posing ranger emotes, firefly lamp
Moonfire Faire 2017: dyeable version of armor set that is already in the game
Anyone defending this is delusional. The rewards for this event have gotten worse every year (thanks cash shop!) but at least last year it was still something original. This year they couldn't even be bothered to make an original reward, just copy and paste that gear set everyone is already wearing. Why bother doing any actual work when the players will eat up whatever scraps you toss them and the fanboys will work around the clock to defend you?
To be fair, you should add the housing decor items and orchestrion roll to the 2017 list as well. :X
With that said, I do still think this year was incredibly lazy with the gear reward. I think the top is cute, sure, but it's inexcusable to give a nearly identical copy of dungeon gear that was released only 2 months before as the event reward.
Also, if they follow their current pattern in reusing armor, it's going to come back as a crafting set that is DoL/DoH only.
You think originality is the property which tells us how good an event reward is. I think the how much I use the reward is much more important, and I'm using this reward more than the bikinis, yukatas and especially that ugly armor set. You don't get to decide for everyone what makes a reward good and what doesn't. To me this event is better than last year's since both the reward and quests were better.
I don't want the job restriction because I don't have 35 inventory slots to waste on just one outfit. Now I can get rid of the dungeon versions. I also wasn't deciding anything for everyone (or calling people delusional for disagreeing), that's why I said "to me this event is better". Some people in this thread are getting so riled up they forget people have different preferences and have right to have them.
The problem is that they simply could have given us dyeable gear from the beginning thus you could run around with the set you like in the color you like (maybe just with the job restriction) and on top of that we would have gotten unique gear for the event. So both sides are kinda happy. I mean its nice that you like it and there is nothing wrong with that but you also cant just decide for everyone and it seems that this feels wrong for a at least some people.
Now its not even sure if we ever get the others sets as dyeable versions since this one will land into mog station. At least a lot of the older event stuff was unique but this time if someone misses the event and wants that gear they will have to buy it for real money..real money for something that is already in the game as dungeon gear..
Also the poster just showed how much we got as glamour gear in the previous events. Now we get more and more housing items that a huge amount of the player base cant even use which means that they either have to throw it away and buy it again for real money if they finally have a house or they have to use their inventory space to store this..
The issue isn't with the gear themselves, but how SE's decision to put the incomplete dyeable set behind an event. So not only are we potentially missing out on a otherwise possible unique set of gear for the event, they are also (imo, probably) setting a precedent in which to lock highly desirable dyeable gear behind the kupo store due to how seasonal event gears are re-obtain down the road. Business-wise it's a perfectly well thought out move, not only are you cutting down on development time/cost, you're also increasing revenue simultaneously. However, from a customer's point of view? I'll leave that up to you to decide.
These are all speculation on my part, by no means am I claiming any of the above are true. Sucks if I'm right though.
The glamour part aside, I do enjoy the event. Even if it's only temporary, it's nice to see a group of players relaxing around Costa de Sol. Also, the guest appearance of Ultros is perfect! XD
Well if its the version you liked out of all the sets then you can get rid of them but if you like some others more (or wanted the head piece) then you will still have to collect and store them. They could have given us at least all sets (with all parts) in this event, if they need to use existing gear for it. This way anyone could have simply thrown all sets away thus freeing up more space.
I'd have liked to be able to obtain more than one set of the gear from the Faire, that way I can dye them differently and not have to worry about spending so many dyes when i use the same item's for different glamors.
