Day 4 of 1017s. No response from SE at all?

You are all missing the point. The JP servers are working fine, nothing else matters. You can give them your money, but asking for fair treatment is out of line. We should be so lucky to help the JP servers out the way we have. In fact, you all should go out and buy another copy of the game so the JP servers can get another new server. Silly round eyes and your entitlements.

gee i mean they suppose to have known that many! people were witing for the ff14... many fans... many mmo players looking for new game... gee its not so hard the entire world wants to play ff14... the fix easy.. more servers! and in servers a serveer status bar... emty, full, half,... that way people can shoose smart and enter a decent server...

Honestly u bring shame to the whole gaming industry and totally soil Square Enix name. Infrastructure in 2013 is NOT an issue for any respectful company, you can loan / outsource / increase your server capacity "on the go" with any decent provider, cloud solutions allow you to do it real time as well. And you don't even have to pay for the capacity that you don't use (i.e., downgrading your server cap when pop drops). So, WHY 1017 ? How can you possibly explain it ?

I'm preaching to the choir here but I'd like to reinforce this point:

I'm aware that no new characters can be created on any NA/EU servers, thanks to a thread pointing this out.

However, the problem here is the login queue for servers appears to either be broken or purposely rendered unresponsive, leaving some people (like me) to repeatedly mash the login button until I get lucky (I did this for 30 minutes before I decided to do something productive). This problem is exacerbated by the apparent lack of an AFK logout timer and plenty of people on the servers know this exists, so they will simply idle to preserve their spot, thereby freeing up less slots for other players to play.

The most troubling part is the lack of a response. This thread is getting really huge really fast, a LOT of people are complaining and we all want to either play or get answers, and we have neither. The sudden lack of an official response of "There is a problem, this is what's happening, and we're working on it" kind of message where there were plenty before is especially troubling.

So, what's happening and why can't I play? And when will I?

Unfortunately, the programmers still have to wait for permission to make those kinds of changes. Are they still restricting logins? I thought that was going to be done away with for release. It's getting ridiculous. There's not even a queue at the moment, which makes things worse. Like everyone seems to be saying - a simple AFK timeout would help massively. I really do dislike the people selfish enough to stay logged while AFK just so they can continue playing.

I just checked. All the Servers are full except for one. This is unacceptable. I held my tongue when we started having problems during the early access because the game wasn't technically out yet and they had time to fix it. But now it's the day of release and they still haven't increased the size of the servers? Ridiculous.

The logic for this is imposible to understand. Are less people playing the game than the count of the people that paid the game. I smell a fraud.

My HDMI fucked me over by falling out and killing all audio for the client forcing me to restart....I think you all know what happened when attempting to relog. Oh well atleast I got to play for acouple hours someone elses turn I suppose.

People AFK because once they log out, they have to physically sit at their PC and press join over and over for hours on end to even log on. I don't like when folks do it either, but I can't say I blame them.

Implement queues please(that actually work.) Seriously, how the hell do I know when a "spot is free" to try to log on.

I feel bad for you guys... I havent logged off the game for 2 days now because 3 days ago I was locked out and learned to just stay logged in or forever be locked out..

hahahahaha I love how it says "Please wait for a spot to open." I sit there and go "ARE YOU GOING TO TELL ME WHEN A SPOT OPENS? NO? WELL HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW?"

Only the JP server are fine? eh? the NA servers always had the same "problem since saturday 24. is it a coincidence? i dont think so :S

Yeah im trying to not be pissed about this. I work all day and have other things to do till around 8pm then i have a 2 to 3 hours window to play and so far I played for 3 hours saturday then its been error 1017 since with a couple of other errors. Last night I got excited because it said you are in queue #28 and counted down for a bit all the way to like 11 then BAM error 1017 popped up and i tried for an hour logging off and back in to no avail! I would like to friggin play what i payed for. My wife has more time than me and she managed to get on yesterday for a bit but not long.

p.s. i know it has to take some kind of a toll on the servers having thousands of people constantly re logging to see if they are going to get passed the 1017. Why the hell do we not have a queue

Me too!!!! Until I had a power flicker in my house which forced a computer restart..... You can guess what's happening now..... sick of this shit.

Ive been awaiting this release for a while now. My wife and I played FFXI for years...she plays on ps3 i play on PC...we are trying to do same FFXIV ARR but the PC version is getting no sending stays betwen 30 and 0. And now i keep getting runtime error. Is anyone else having send issues? Recieveing is in the 4-5000 range so believe thats good.The ps3 version works great, but the pc version needs a lot of help. Just want a dev to respond saying they are trying to fix problem!

I have been trying to play for the last three hours n I get the same message time after time full world, now the little that I have played I enjoyed but honestly square u got me pulling my hair out. I am trying to be patient but damn I did pay 60 bucks I should at least get to play whenever I have the desire to.

You'd think they be a little more careful the 2nd time around.

SE.... if you can only support a limited number of players.... at some point you should stop selling your game.

SOLD OUT should apply to an online game where the servers are limited. ._.

im not gonna complaint UNTIL I start paying monthly feeds to play it. for now i hope this issue gets resolve.

Lots of complains....I honestly don't have any problems getting in. Log in, hit a queue of 200+ a minute or so later and I'm in the game.

FYI... Amazon is entertaining refunds. Normally, I'd stick through glitches and bugs... but not being able to play is not being able to play.

Try to create a pj in Adamantoise Server and try log in into the game. You will see the problem.
