And i'm not confused at all, Korea / Russia are already fed up of this game microtransactions for a good, good while. Not only to talk about that these countries very often fake their numbers with incredible amount of bots / skewing statistics.

It has run it's scaming course in these countries, time to liquidate what is left of goodwill about it in the west for a last dry run and money grabbing.

Hm.... Maybe people need to come up with their own conclusions and thought processes... Other than sounding like automated response one after the other without adding anything else...

Love seeing myself as MVP for damage in it's endgame content so often. :cool: Makes me want to keep trying for it, so everyone benefits! I do not imagine that kind of system would ever work well here. :p

Yup, people indeed need to do their research, indeed they do. 4 years out, big success in its country of origin, many interesting game systems, great gameplay, and a not too predatory business model contrary to some KMMO. I gave it a try precisely because it had a good track record. Still playing FFXIV though.

I dont see the fuss really. Ive learned enough of lost ark from videos to never even download it. Some of my static is playing it in off time, they r not big fans either. Hope ppl get bored soon and come back to buy our overpriced treasure maps and crafted gear again.

I'm enjoying Lost Ark, but there's a few things that seem off to me.

Having a shop icon on the main HUD feels straight out predatory. The visuals are very lovely, but I struggle to remember that many locales. The graveyard zone was kinda cool, but there were no landmarks or anything that memorable, other than I guess the house with black smoke? Then there's like a forest and like another forest and some sandy area... and they just feel very samey.

Music is... there I guess? I couldn't hum you a single tune if my life depended on it.

I don't really like how much stuff the game is throwing at me either. I'm getting all these weird currencies and cards and items I activate that give me something that I don't even know where it is or what I use it for, then I'm given items that are 10 levels ahead of what I have and are Epic or Rare or something but any of them barely change the look of my character, and it feels more like Raid: Shadow Legends than anything else.

Gameplay is rather fun and responsive, if a bit repetitive. Dungeon design isn't too interesting, but it's fun to kill things, though I can only remember a few memorable enemy types (like the ghosts in the graveyard map). I've been playing a Sorceress and I've been enjoying both my skill set and how I can customize it. Fights are a far cry from older Korean MMOs, which felt clunky and unresponsive. Lost Ark feels super smooth.

In all, I'm enjoying the game, but it has made me appreciate many aspects of XIV that I just have been taking for granted for some time now.

Blade and Soul was also out for years before it came to the West, with years of contents waiting to be released. It was also pretty popular with dozens of servers, just not at Lost Ark's level cuz it is not published by a super-marketing Amazon and it interested in no Steam release. Look at its pitiful state now, barely survive if it is not for the whale carrying it, thanks to NCWest/NCSoft mismanagement. So yeah, being released for years does not mean it will be foolproof in other markets. Perhaps Lost Ark will fare better, but only time will tell.

B&S was also going down in popularity at Korea when it was release in the West, time will tell I guess. Anyway, I finally decided to give it a go and is a fun game. I'm also surprise the amount of QoL you are giving right away or can be purchase with in-game currency, it's like GW2 without any entry price.

Will see once my honeymoon phase is over.
