This is what I was thinking about, within an FC house there may be close to 100 or so people with individual rooms, people who would now have to either join the housing race to buy their own plot or just not have housing of any kind anymore.

Like the weekly gold saucer lottery system. And limit the ticket 1 purchase per account/FC . Ticket price is the price of the S, M, or L. Get refunded if lose, and dont own one yet. Want to relocate?, you must pay, no gil refund, and buy a ticket!

In fact, make people buy it at the gold saucer!

even a lotterysystem would be better than this right now.

Being able to bypass the timer by relocating is not right. And I am someone who has a house.

This is my favorite post about FFXIV housing.

This wasnt the big ward addition, they did this because demo timers are currently off, they mentioned more later on when they improve server infrastructure, not to mention well prolly see ishgard 5.5 or early 6.0.

At the very least, they could update/upgrade apartments so that they're more like the instanced housing people want.
Things like being able to cross-breed plants indoors, being able to upgrade the size of your apartment, increasing the item limits and storage, etc.

Im doubting the entire Server thing by now ... SE said they cant give us more inventory ... BUT you can buy for extra saddleback and 7 additional retainers.

Its likewise the same thing for housing, SE doesnt want to do it. Any time only 3 wards are added its simply up to whoever fights and wins against the queue rather then any fair distribution.

The entire thing needs to be broken down and then rebuild in instances, so many FC's want a large and yea what of it you added multiple hundreds of plots ... its still only a handful of large ones. And with single players competing it becomes even worse and you cant even get mad because single player deserve them to and should not be locked out.

If we would instance them we could add like 500 large ones instead of 500 small ones --; We have sea of clouds, instance the plots on islands! it would even fit in the lore.

Yet is SE is like "look we added soooooo many houses (90% small) and its never enough QQ" GIVE US MEDIUMS OR LARGES
