It won't.
It's not even on their radar list of upcoming things they're "working on". There are so many things ahead of it (sadly imo) that even if yoshi were to mention it in next month's letter, there would be another year to develop it before it actually hits players.

I seriously disagree with those who say we don't need it, the markets work fine, or whatever other reason they have but I'm realistic enough to know that it's just not gonna happen... you'll see male mithra before you see an AH. That's just the way it is, hoping just leads to disappointment.

If you really want one, ask for it in the JP forum so at elast the dev's have a chance of seeing it

Hyperbole much? I am in fact asking for EXACTLY an auction house. One that is connected to all 3 cities and has bidding AND buy it now. Just Like EBAY. Shows how clueless YOU are.

Finally someone that actually gives a valid reason other than, "Because I'm lazy and have to troll this system".

I believe you add that and a better search and mark function to the market wards and they will be fine for using, no real reason to complain.

It was one of the top three things most voted for in the player pole. Honestly, I believe if there will not be an auction house (or a broker house, whatever you want to call it however they want it to work) there is a lot of players who will not give this game a chance. There is also many players who will not return to the game and many who will give up the wait and leave.

The Market Wards work right now with less than the bare minimum. Instead of planning to add a lot of extra fluff content in the game even though we all like that I think they should really consider focusing on fixing the main issues of the game. The things that the game was most criticized for in the major reviews like no mail system, terrible economy system (MW), The settings for the game being outside the game, the game crashing when alt+tabbing, the lack of beginner direction (till you learn the system), limited daily quests as only/main content, main story only having one impressive cut scene with voice over (the first one), no transportation or housing, copy paste landscape and no sense of progression.

The armory system doesn't actually have a flaw. Everyone likes a little bit of customization on skills! There was nothing majorly wrong with having manual attack. There was/is no need to continuously 'improve' the market wards.

Anyway these changes have been good, just that they should have fixed some of the more pressing issues. Fixing the foundation of the game to build more on it could be easier.

Short version: FFXIV needs an auction house/bidding house/broker!

Damn right it would. It would fix many of the broken features of this game like give meaning to enemy drops, give motivation to craft and sense of accomplishment from getting new gear since you could tell what it's worth if you don't plan on wearing it.



Btw, these threads really need SE's attention. You've answered to all the threads about targeting modes and bikinis and hairstyles. Surely their importance doesn't trump the lack of an AH?

It just raises questions of SE's priorities...

I honestly can't believe that one year from the release of this game, an AH is not even a main priority for the devs, when it should have been a core feature from day 1.

Some people may like it more or less, some may have enough with the current market wards system, I respect those opinions and I have my own on the subject, but looking at the bigger picture, this game will go P2P eventually and the masses are not going to pay to play a game that lacks some very basic market features that evey other MMO has.

And I would keep market wards as they are, just a dedicated space to bazaar stuff (like the old Rolanberry fields), separate to the AH

I'm sorry, but your wrong... There will be ppl that will pay for the game with the market ward system (Granted it gets a better search and mark feature) and there are other MMO's without a AH (Megaten and Guild Wars).
