Black Mage

SMN has Tri-disaster and believe you me, it's far better. The summoner rotation physically casts dots once every two minutes. That's practically nothing. In fact, I feel like it would make BLM even more unique from SMN (and RDM) with a dot that functions differently than them or any other job.

And yet the summoner community is still complaining their job is broken. Granted smn is not perfect but it did get much love (like it did in HW)
Blm does get buffs but it always just seems for short periods of time and then they buff other jobs and blm feels like it was steamrolled over
Players were saying Blm always get love because it is Yoshis main... i certainly do not feel like it gets this so called "love", lol

At this point anyone who is complaining that summoner is broken is just flat out wrong. If you need proof, check my log page.

Also I'm not sure how additive dots would be a problem, especially since it's a proc-based dot and would cap at 60 seconds. No other dots in the game are proc based (that I can think of), so I see no incentive for other classes to be clamoring for it.

Whoever is still complaining on SMN just straight can't play the job, or this game. SMN is strong, feels good to play and is a mobility god among all Disciple of Magic right now. Heck, you can even do good damage without even controling your pet nowadays.

Additive DoTs will bring the issue of how do you deal with a stronger DoT being on there than the one you're about to apply? I really don't want to go back to the "a stronger version of this spell is already affecting the target" or whatever. You can't just keep your snapshotted DoT rolling, that'd be broken.

Now that there is no raging strikes on BLM, this issue seems pretty small. In fact I would just flat out say adding to it keeps its original strength as long as you can keep it up. Sounds like a sweet deal to me.

Caster as a position seems to be in a very good spot right now. You can take RDM for prog/clears, SMN for speedrun/damage, and BLM if you want to be excluded from PF's and raid groups.

BLM simply requires too much adjustment for the party and you need to be much greedier to be worth it over just playing any other job. Even with this, you bring about the raw damage as a MCH/NIN/DRG performing at your same skill level and then MCH/NIN/DRG press their raid buff button twice.

The example I provided was of the sharpcast thunder opener that is used in o1s and o2s. You have 8 fire iv there due to convert.

You're using sharp thunder for that opener
Sharp (pre pull) > B3 > T3 (Manashift) > B4 > TC proc (can use LL or a pot here) > Fire 3 (triple cast) > Fire IV (pot/ LL) > Fire IV > Fire IV (convert) > Fire IV > Fire 1 > Fire IV x 4 > B3 > Foul > T3 > B4 > etc.

That's the opener I was referring to. I suppose I wasn't very clear though. But in that opener, you're screwed if you have a TC proc mid fire 3 cast and you're basically hoping for a Firestarter there since the T3 proc is gonna fall off during your fire 1 cast. So having TC refresh stacks would be very helpful and a nice QoL change IMO. There are other examples of this but since the situation will always be different, this was the most consistent example I could think of.

Clarification you mean 60 seconds as a damage cap or total duration? Because I thought you meant like Ignite of fire mage from wow, but if you mean like Pandemic from warlock well that's another thing but I still think would fit a dot based job better

Honestly the scatche proposal of extending AF/UI and extending procs to 30 sec would probably serve much better AND actually would ease some problems on the lower level, which is what SE really wants to do

While TC refreshing stacks would be kinda cool, I wouldn't want to depend on such an unreliable system to refresh. Especially not with TC procs being on such a short timer currently.
