I saw a few of your posts regarding it in various threads, but I found one specific thread from just after 3.0's announcement that showcases the anguish at the tome grind/caps from the 2.5 timeframe and hoping 3.0 didn't become the same way. Too bad it did. Would have been cool to see some new system in place.

I did find this quote from last years thread funny though...
People already do this regardless of caps.... If it was just a dungeon drop system atleast it would promote doing dungeons and you could gear up more than one class at a time. Instead of just grinding one class to max for a month and a half or so and then start on another. That method makes me feel forced to play only one class, which to me, seems counter productive to SE's design of playing and changing jobs on the fly.
