Real Money to Get In-Game Currency: Eternal Bond Edition

The cash shop is either wrong, in it's entirety, or it's right. This posturing over when it becomes wrong because it all of a sudden influences how YOU(general) may play the game is narcissistic. If you want the cash shop closed, I'm with you. If you just want to feel like your clears or gear make you better than anyone else, you're just a bad person.

Also, why are so many people unable to just go along playing and let this one drop? Why is it that the hardcore crowd came out en masse when it became possible for people to make gil through the cash shop but just shrugged off all of the vanity items available? Nothing has changed. Actually no, they didn't say anything about "no cash shop" but I do believe that even vanity shouldn't gated by cash. That said, it's not really the topic of this thread, tho I do agree with you whole heartedly.

I could care less about the RMT yes or no argument.

The REAL ISSUE with this is it is HORRIBLY INEQUITABLE TO PLAYERS.

Instead of players having to (novel idea) play the game to get their hard-earned gils.

They can make a business earning gil for IRL CASH.

This favors the wealthy IRL & offers them a paid-advantage over those who are not (or those unwilling to do this for ethical reasons).

Sure, no gil is being added or subtracted from the economy, but the IRL wealthy can become wealthy in-game without having to do any in-game work besides trading the item.

SE are you going to put a stop to this yet?

That's just pure envy. There's nothing fair in this world. You want something, you get it by the stated means.
Demanding for it to be changed so it can be made available to you is nothing short of entitlement.

It doesn't need to be game breaking to be Pay to Win.

The issue is not about the Gold and Platinum plans being locked behind a paywall. It's about the bracelets being tradeable, which the devs have admitted were not meant to be sold for gil.

Also please note that SE does not condone selling of the band. It's the player's choice to sell the band, exactly the same as players who are selling carries.

Pay to Win = an in-game advantage purchased with real life money.

Bracelet sellers have an advantage over those who make money through in-game means

Yes and they have acknowledged that if it continues to be a problem then they will patch it. Players need to be vocal for this to happen.

There is no issue with buying / selling carries as long as the gil was obtained through in-game means (crafting, desynth, spiritbond etc)

third, Wealthy IRL players are what keep this game running. if a wealthy person pays five hundred dollars for in game currency, and gets to wipe in final coil as a reward, that keeps my game running, and is beneficial to me.

I have already seen the effect. my stuff has moved about five times faster since patch 2.45 than before, which means more gil for me, and more progression for me.

I personally hope they expand this. it has been shown to work in other subscription games, and has been positive on their respective economies.

Gils used to purchase the eternal bond bands was obtained through in-game means too. Where's the point of argument?
