In patch 1.22 the display method for parts you can attach the materia but for how to view that display there is nothing on the Lodestone. Is there information about this sneaked in somewhere? There is lack of description on which icon is for what, if a person that doesn't know primary/secondary tool when they look at this they wont be able to tell right away.

マテリア装着可能部位のアイコンは、ゲーム内でアイコンにマウスオーバーすると部位名がポップアップ表示されるようになっています。
For materia icons if you mouse over it will popup display the equipment part.

なおご指摘のとおり、Lodestone上などへの説明がない点についてはご不便をおかけしています。
パッチ1.22aでアイテムサーチ上でもマテリア装着可能部位のアイコンが表示されるようになりますので、
それにあわせてアイコンの対応表の追加準備を進めています。
Also like you mentioned there isn't information on Lodestone and we apologize for the inconvenience. With patch 1.22a's item search you it will also display the attachment part icons so we are looking into adding additional list for the icons.

They're saying the icons aren't readable. When you look at a materia they replaced the text that told you what peices you could put it on with icons.

Just says for new players they wont know what each icons means for that new materia attachment slot info.
Market search I guess didn't have that display so they adding that there on 1.22a patch, and also will try to have information available for new people to check to understand icons.

I don't understand why they changed it in the first place, simply having "Legs" was enough to know it was for Legs but now we have a bunch of faded out icons along with one icon "Legs" so we know it's for Legs. <_< Was it really hard for people to read what they worked on?

Those Icons really do suck...

That seems to be the trend with new programs / themes. I may be oldfashioned, but I rather plain text neatly organized into categories than unreadable and cryptic icons everywheres. Here's looking at you microsoft office 2010 + gmail's new theme.

Doesn't help that I'm horribly nearsighted and too stubborn to get glasses.

Yeah I really hate this icon only fetish that's in development lately... I blame Apple and OSX mostly.
