Like the confusing thing is, when you see someone running from node to node without stealth, that's more than likely a bot than a player, because only a bot script would try to get the most efficient timing. A player doesn't beeline to the next node the second they stop harvesting, and do it for 24 hours straight, nobody is that perfect.

To be completely honest, with the way popular bots work nowadays it's extremely hard to tell.

Simple youtube videos showcase more advanced, randomized mesh pathing as well as plugins for proper rotations, movement, dodging, etc.

We need to really rely on SE rather than our own suspicions.

These botters are not smart, they are business men believe it or not. So they are going to have that bot running until their PC gets so hot that it turns into a spaceship and enters atmosphere. SE just needs live GM spectators in areas with activity.

Bots standing in the same place day in and day out. I have like 30 screenshots of this group from different days and different hours. I know they're bots because of how they react to mobs being lured to them. This and one other location in the Shroud where the elemental sprites show up I'm fairly certain they're harvesting crystals, but I don't know.

Stuck under the floor, combat bot, I have no idea what it's harvesting but it was running around killing everything indiscriminately in Castrum Occidens for several consecutive days.

Bots under the floor of the map, also having ' at the end of their name somehow prevents them from showing up in search. All BLM's.

So has SE made an official response on this subject? What is being done? I've played more MMO's than I care to admit, but in truth FFXIV has the worst moderation I have seen yet. Its commonplace for my chatlog to be filled with gil seller spam. Sometimes I get up to 3 a minute. Its not acceptable. A close friend who started the game with me, logged out today in frustration over it.

Saddly, no serious attempt is being made to monitor, or limit botters, and/or gill sellers. there's an easy fix that has been requested on numerous occasions, yet never implemented. right click, report RMT / report gill seller / report botter, etc. if blizz and numerous other games can have this, both as f2p, and sub based, why's SE holding out? probably alot of reasons, but none would be good enough. i submit upwards of 30 reports an hour, but lately, i set myself busy so i don't have to. it's done no good. i've filled and deleted numerous blacklists due to hitting cap. if i can't enjoy the game, why should i, or anyone else remain due to the RMT's not being reigned in?

I don't think you understand. Your advice isn't very clear to new players, which is what I was contesting. Not everyone understands or know what's a bot and I disagreed with your last two statements in an earlier because you can unintentionally promote harassment of players in this game. I've seen it happen with enough players already legitimately playing the game when people make statements like that.

Yes, RMT is a definite problem, but before you go out and say something that can get misconstrued since there are many players that don't have that kind of experience in knowing the difference between bots...be careful because I don't want to see players getting harassed as bots. I've had people get spammed with trade requests because of it, thinking they were going after someone botting who was actually mining.

Is anyone else receiving RMT tells from level 1s in ONLY Ul'dah? Mine are never from anywhere else. I have actually gone to the trouble of searching the city and finding several in various nooks and crannies. Also its getting worse day by day. Last week alone I added 70 to my BL.

I generally receive 10 RMT tells per evening on Sargatanas...on each of the 3 characters I play. Its annoying as hell but I'm sorry SE I'm NOT going to spend an hour and a half per day filling out individual reports to you about each one of these people! You have only managed to delete a total of 16 off my black list since launch! :mad:
The thing is, 4 of my friends and I all play the same hours in a party together and we ALL get tells from the same RMTers. Every time. I doubt we 5 are the only ones on Sarg getting tells from these idiots...everyone who is online and not in busy mode or an instance will be getting them. And yet you only manage to ban a paltry couple of thousand total RMT in the last sweep from all worlds? Unbelievable.

Do your job and implement a right click and report RMT option in the chat window for heaven sake. EVERY OTHER GAME I PLAY DOES THIS! We do not pay you so we can do your work for you!

I commented about this a few pages back. Definitely not alone in that observation. Every "friend" invite and PM I get is always from a level 1 in Well'Duh . . . I mean Ul'dah.

Again, "DELETED" only means the bots deleted themselves. SE will never delete characters.

Seems to me a simple enough solution to catching a lot of RMT would be for SE to set an anonymous GM in each city.

The RMTers would send them tells just like they send everyone who logs into the game. BAM gotcha!
