White knights in this thread are the reason why Square Enix gets away with releasing bad content. I love Square Enix and I love Final Fantasy 14, but come on, they are getting away with releasing really terrible and repetitive content. Where are the open world dungeons? How about updating the map to make it seem like the world is seamless? Airships aren't even real airships in this game because you can't fly all over the world without being instanced. There's really no point to explore the world in this game.

crafting (for what?)
Gathering (tedious and runs out fast cause crafts takes 5 mats per of same type, for example mythrite nugget)
Leveling and playing your other classes/jobs (no point to play more than 1 dow/dom class if you are trying to be great at once and master the rotation for crap like Alex Savage)
Sightseeing log (can easily be done in a few days)
Gold saucer (no prizes that are valuable or worth getting)
Collect every minion (this isn't pokemon)
Collect all mounts (no point when you can't even have your chocobo out at the same time as your mount)
Perfect your glamour (looks can only take you so far)
House purchase and decor (impossible to purchase a house because none are available. Housing is instanced, defeats the purpose of housing)
beast tribe quests (pointless, does not add to end-game progression)
Hunts (do it for a week and you don't ever have to do it again)
Become rich (why? so I don't have to do #1 and #2 on your list?
Craft and pentameld the ultimate craftable gear (they aren't needed to do the highest craft so why?)
Max out your relics (the glamour doesn't look as good as the hive weapons for my class so why?)
Teach others (hard to do when everything is instanced and you barely get to interact with the rest of the server)
Mentor (not many new players to mentor. newbie zones are dead)
Make new friends (instances and stuff that requires static parties prevents this)
Talk to folks (again, instances limit this)
Treasure Maps (RNG)
Seasonal events (Finish in less than an hour)
Chocobo breeding/racing (gold saucer, pointless)

Craft and pentameld the ultimate cartable gear (gear that is outgeared by endgame content and will be even more outdated with the next patch plus lets not forget the PURE RNG THAT DESTROYS THE MATERIA)
Max out your relics (once done theres no point also MOST stages of relic look identical and again not meny care for looks)
Teach others (no mentor system in this game and most 'newbie players' do not wish to be taught they wish to learn themselves or by there friends)
Mentor (look at above)
Make new friends (instanced servers make this difficult, and most people stick with there FC's it is extremely difficult to make friends in this game because everyone either can't here you or thinks your spamming the chat unless it's a rp server)
Talk to folks (most people put you on black list if you fill the chat log or ignore you)
Treasure Maps (pure RNG for items that do nothing.)
Seasonal events (done in ONE hour or less or your money back)
Chocobo breeding/racing (no point once you are higher up you will beat all NPC racers and not meny people do this so you will rarely play against a player meaning it is not fun)
Train your chocobo to lvl 20 (done once and never again and for 3 glamour on your chocobo that most do not notice use or like :D)
