I wouldn't mind FFXIV becoming a WoW clone in the casual/hardcore appeal if...

i found WoWs endgame content annoying to be able to break into as a new player and when you did was boring as hell lol

OStia. WOw's quests are not the more diverse. Get a bunch in next area, stay in next area, do a typical mobs, or gathering of items, return, rinse repeat.

Uses I have played WOW PVP, as an example I used the one type that was actually fun and not a kill feast. That would fit FFXIV best due to story elements. Other then Arena compeition like olympics between nations.

WOW lacked story, so it's not an effective clone for a eastern game in that manner. You got way off track fro mthe orginal OP post anyway, and how much shoudl be copied from WOW, which is smaller aspects.

WOW was very light and casual for gamers to get into, often used as a break to others that prefered more challenge and not A to B gaming.

All I want is a fun game, not a "clone" our a "killer".

To many "Clones" or claimed clones out there as it is, and XIV needs to remain different. XI was becuase it was older hen wow, it had some aspects of EQ but was aslso very different (For those that actually played it for years, it would be clear).

If more and more aspects of WOW were added till the point it looked liek wow, every single wow only lunatic woudl scream "It's a clone-can't they be original?" just because it shares aspects. WOW didn't orginate all their content design in the first place,

When I owuld play wow, and some of us went back over to XI for some time, and new peopel woudl join, they majorly complained about XI's difficuluty, and how hard it was to get around ,do long quests, and complete goals. Some stuck it through, and got to see what the game truely had to offer, some jsut didn't put in the extra effort and needed the more casual play. XI was HArdcore at first, but when you progressed it got easier.

As the game got older, they made it easier, added radar and quest locations to maps, and steam lined content for those joing late.

Now it needs to evolve, startign with some ideas of XI (Not a totally different franchise but their own) go a tad more standard on UI options yet streamlined so it fucntiosn better then wow's. Even rift knew it had to do that. The more rift started liek WOW the worse it did. THey broke away from it becuase it actually damaged them.

GW2, earlier betas, ore like WOW. It wasn't actually so popular, so they are now breakign away from that.

Cloning more often hurts a franchise, rather then helps it.
