Viktor Blackthorn - The Nimble Warrior
An hour ago, Viktor Blackthorn could see the sands far below the Nimble Warrior jumping course. How he loathed the sight. Yet as soon as the rain began, the highlander had cursed himself for wishing the view away. Now, as he shivered upon one of the narrow planks near the top of the course's imposing tower, the rain swiftly picked up, the wind carrying it diagonally to pelt his body. Holding a beam, he dared to look down, only to find a void of speckled gray below, the shore drowned in the haze of the storm.
Vik clenched his eyes shut, attempting to regain his waning equilibrium, and then turned his gaze upward, at those last few planks above. Each jump mere fulms away, the very end a handful of yalms. Such a short distance, but for one who had just spent hours hopping and climbing, it looked beyond perilous. His muscles burned with his exertions, the man finding pains in places he never knew could ache. His only respite now was in the sheets of rain that slapped against him, cooling the sunburns under his chest harness even as they threatened to plunge him to the beach below.
Taking a deep breath, the Highlander bit back the pain in his knees, squatted, and leapt! Arms outstretched, one hand barely caught the edge of the next plank, enough for the man to pull the rest of himself up. After a brief pause to wipe his rain-soaked hair out of his eyes, he turned, wobbled like a cat ready to pounce, and then leapt again.
Slip!
Despite the traction of his boot soles, Vik immediately found his feet swinging above his head. Coated in rain, the narrow slab of lumber may as well have been dipped in oil. Tumbling backward, the highlander barely managed to catch himself, slapping a gloved hand over the top of the plank.
For just a moment, he let himself dangle, and in those few seconds reflected. "Why am I doing this?" he growled through the din of the heavy rain.
Casting his eyes upward in frustration, Vik looked just in time to see lightning streak across the sky. For less than a breath, the beach was illuminated, the edge of the very top of the Nimble Warrior cutting through the view of the clouds.
Memories of his mountainous homeland flashed through his mind, of rocky climbs every bit as challenging as this, with lightning so close it made one's hair stand on end.
It was the only reminder he needed.
A grin spreading over his scarred lips, Vik gritted his teeth and hefted himself up to the next plank.
A deep breath and another leap, the longest of them all. He felt the plank wobble under his muscular weight, his balance briefly thrown. Arms flailing, he fought with his own body, righting himself. And then, pulling upward, he sloshed himself like an exhausted slug through the water at the very top of the Nimble Warrior.
For a moment, he just laid there, panting, smiling. The rain all around him ceased, quieting.
A few breaths later, all of the beach could hear a roar of victory booming from the tower above!

To My Fellow Warriors In Every Star and Shard
We all started on the same foot forward, even if the environment was different. The road we all eventually wound up on, is also different. Some of us became the most revered fighters of renowned skill and glory. Some of us rose from ambitious entrepreneurs and grew into masters of the market. Some of us became artists who mastered the brush and canvas. Some of us took to pen and paper to scribe our adventures and stories, as I am doing now. Some of us became entertainers beloved by all!
Some of us became mentors to help those who will come after them by sharing their own experiences and wisdom. And some of us just decided to stay humble and obscure, out of history's scrying eye. Whichever path we took and what road has lead us, know that my favorite moments have always been in spending time with you.
We may never speak to each other or even run into one another. We may only speak greetings in a dungeon or in a perilous trial. We may start conversations from out of nowhere and become the best of friends and allies. We may scold and yell at each other for every mistake and reckless behavior that cost us dearly. We may cry on each others shoulder, we may offer a hand in need, we can laugh, cheer, dance and sing.
We can spend time at each other's abode or in our free companies home. We can meet up in the city, or out in the wild where we hunt for treasure or marks. The greatest thing about us as adventurers is that we will always meet someone different at every corner.
And as we continue on our daily tasks, I felt the need to stop and write my fleeting feelings on paper and share my thoughts, lest I lose them. My words may be a whisper in the wind, here in an instant and vanishing just as fast. It can be lost in a crowd or heard by a captive audience.
But you, my dear personal stranger, I wish to say thanks for taking time out of your busy day to read a wayward sentimental letter. However this came to be in your hands, all I wish to say is that I appreciate you. You made my time in Eorzea and in Norvrandt most memorable.

"You try to too or imma hug you again"
It was long ago at night I sat staring at the sky and the gleaming tower. As I did so on so many occasions before its my favorite spot The Anchor Yard.
At that time my long distance relationship had ended. I was depressed and angry. "Pfft what a waste of time all that work just for it to end like this? I have rotten luck with women" I thought. All of a sudden a stranger came running, a miqote. She looked around as if searching for something then stood there. Tali Hena her name was."You here for any special reason?" She suddenly turned her head to look at me, I stood on my feet tilting my head to look at Tali.
"hm?" She replied. Waiting for someone?" I asked.
"me? No, just watching the fireworks and playing a game of hide and seek xD" she said. "Lol cool" I then faced forward looking at the fireworks. "you?" She asked. "This is my favorite spot and idk why im telling you this but im here to cheer myself up i suppose" I muttered brooding. Her gaze shot back up at me seeing me finally reply "ahh :o"she replied. Then suddenly Nagi Amaterasu points at Tali Hena. A lalafell walked infront of Tali proceeding to point at her 2 more times."Heh spotted" I said. Nagi then danced sprightly for Tali showing her his uncontainable jubilation! I sat back down brooding. "Anyways you two have a great evening." I told them.Tali responded "you two :3." Nagi then marched towards me to my left then stopped to give me a big hug. My heart warmed at this slightly "Thanks" I replied slightly embarrassed. "And you found me, time for a new spot I suppose" Tali said as she walked to my right she then patted my head then walked away stopping a bit before the cavern turning to look back. "^^ Ty you two" I told them as I briefly glanced at the kind lalafell behind me.
"you needed a hug" Nagi said as he proceeded to give me another big hig. He then walked to join Tali who was waiting for him. They stood there awaiting my response "Im tough but ty ^^" I assured them but i was really trying to act tough. I then turned my gaze from them back towards the skies. Tali patted Nagi's head. I then got up abruptly and bowed my head at their act of kindness. "everyone needs a hug sometimes" Nagi bounced back in response. I smirked at this trying to be tough but realizing he was right. I then returned to sit with my legs folded. Nagi smiled at me Tali then bowed to me in the same manner I did to them then she ran off exiting through the cavern tunnel. Nagi waved at me excitedly his whole body moving which he followed by a bow as well. He started walking off when I said "Bless you two have a great evening" Nagi then stopped and turned around to face me. I waved goodbye at him. "you try to too or imma hug you again" he threatened. I chuckled at this "lol" was all I can think of to reply and Nagi hurried through then left. I stood up taking in the moment looking at the skies and being grateful for the kindness of strangers and cheering up. Thanks for reading my story.
