I just selected "Default Transfer" because I really want to go to Balmung. When I manually selected Balmung it was packed, and the entire server table was full.
This just defies logic. I don't have time to sit around and camp a web page to get on the same server as my friends. This needs to be fixed ASAP or the game is going to hemorrhage what remains of the playerbase.
You don't have to pick default server if you are staying on your own server, I too was confused at first, but if you are staying, you do nothing, so all those complaining about not getting their default server do not need to worry.
I like how some people say "don't listen to the vocal majority on the forums", you know why servers are packed? Most people chose to stay on there same server, meaning a merge was better for most of the population ( I checked it when it first opened up for giggles). The vocal minority of people who wanted the previous option are now speaking up.
So I'll just be put in Balmung anyway, if I do nothing? Lovely! :D Now I can rest easy.
you do realize you got over 2 weeks to do this and the main reason everythings the way it is now is cuz everyones trying to do it at once?
i think if people would stop acting like it needs to be done NOW NOW NOW and settle down this will pass, and they will get into the server they want with time.
and if they cant join their friends, maybe their friends can join them, or if all were in the same server originaly, maybe they just shouldnt transfer at all
Sorry but they have been running an MMO for over 10 years, there is no excuse for the way this is being done, it's just the standard poor customer service that we always get and apologizing for a company that you are paying for a service doesn't help. People are upset they can't do it now for two reasons: there has been almost no communication from SE regarding all of the servers being full and; people naturally want assurances that the characters they have been working on for over a year will transfer over to the same server as their friends. These are basic principals that should be lit up in neon lights in the developers heads, yet here we are with another convoluted and poorly executed process that fosters resentment towards the development team.
Yes I realize that in the end I'll probably get on the world that I want but that doesn't compensate for the initial frustration and disappointment and certainly doesn't inspire any sort of confidence that this game will be "fixed" when they finally do start to roll out 2.0.
