Well, demons are usually something to be feared. They're menacing, threatening, fierce and dangerous. The female Au Ra are the compete opposite of this and are instead "anime demons," as I like to call them (cute, petite, etc).

Way back when I picked a Night Elf Hunter without really looking into anything and solo'd for quite a while, then when I came to civilization (joined a raiding guild, did high end raids and actually went back and did old dungeons) I found out I nailed a cliche and picked the generally least hardcore pvp side - though I had a lot of time and statics back then so it all worked out.
Second sentence is a huge + from me, I really feel like SE has been hammering home the beautiful hyur variations (they're good sure) and missing the adoration of another audience by introducing in a different aesthetic.

Looked like their concept artists had the idea for a distinct variation but were revised till it became at least 60% hyur (statistic made up on the spot, rights reserved), I don't dislike hyur but would have loved to see something distinct (like the concept arts). Some of these variations I can't imagine were just because of gear costs (costs to make gear fit the race). Whoever is in charge of races, please add options as we go and as feasible or at least in the future if another race is made, try not to toe the line of an interracial couple of something unique crossed with a midlander hyur. Imo of course.
What I'm curious about is whether SE will look at this discussion and pull a Blizzard by overcompensating in the other direction the next time they introduce a new race.
Human + animal ears has a place (if they grant my wish of introducing a mouse race for the miqo'te to chase around, I would want them to lean towards this over the alternative), while less-human has a place as well (FFXI's Galka and the concept art Au ra).
