Had a very brief run of Amdapor City Hard. Tank does a mass pull starting from the first set of gremlins down to the last set near the barrier. One of our DPS thought it was a good idea to destroy the barrier while we were dealing with the mass pull of mobs. He causes the butterflies to be summoned and the entire thing falls apart. Tank immediately quits and I followed him. No amount of speedy healing was going to save that run.

More a funny story than an horror story (except for me)

Yesterday, my static in A5S we were just starting... First warm-up wipe.
Then i got lucky and draw some good card. I was feeling good and all.

Then our smn manage to bio-pull the 2 little Faust.
Ok nevermind he will die and we will go again. So we all went outside the room and wait for the reset.

As soon as the smn died (2/3 hit...)
For i don't know which astral cursed reason they both turn to me and charge to kill me ignoring both tank, my co-heal and the remaining DPS that stand between me and them.
I did not cast single heal or draw a card. 0 enmity production and still my fat tasty fluffy miqo'te Ass was second in line to be destroyed...

I ran for my life until the entrance expecting them to reset. But no they went until the white entrance and proceed to plow my back with their pointy thing... (Ouch)
And when I hit the ground fine dead meat... They reset...
I died like... Half à second before the 15sec reset...

I cried because i lost all my card, and the whole static was laughing their Ass off in vocal.
My co-heal was laughing so hard she forgot to breath and I was pissed...

For that matter i did request them 5 minutes to draw back my card, and I warn our smn that if that happends again i would have his ass roasted...

As always my big miqo'te butt made their day... *sulk*

The Aery

Not really a horror story, but it did leave me really frustrated. The DF group I went in with were spectacular until we got to Nidhogg. First few minutes in and everything was running smoothly until I got marked with Sable Price and proceeded to flail helplessly in the air to my possible death. I thought, "No worries, the DPS will get me out in a jiffy." Apparently I had placed too much trust in them during the run because the BLM and MNK did not even move a yalm to break me out. Needless to say, I died from Sable Weave and everyone followed suit. Take two, I was marked again (wtf Nidhogg?) and I was really hoping the DPS would have learned that a flying healer does no good for the rest of the group. I was typing in chat, "Help!" yet no one came. The MNK finally did run over to help, but by then it was too late. Take three, same thing happens again, but the BLM and MNK finally come to help...2/3 of the way of Sable Weave's cast. Take four, I passive-aggressively told the two to get me out of Sable Weave ASAP and they got the hint that I wasn't going tolerate dying again to their blindness or ignorance. After they did their jobs, Nidhogg went down easily.

I've yet to have any truly horrible healing experiences, but only time will tell when it will happen. >.>;

I did a Wonderer Palace HM to get the TT card.
Composition of the group : A fresh DRK (level 51) and 2 SMN (level 53 and 56).
I'm level 60 SCH. Tank tells us it's her first time. DD don't say a word.
First 2 packs : I take enemity (with my dots : on 2 mobs ... ok)
I check tank's gear : she wears 2 beautiful rings, first one is DOL, second one is DOW !
So I tell her that the rings she is wearing are not for tank, and asks if she can't wear others, even if there are lower levels. Well she changes and wears beautiful level 35.
First boss : adds are not killed : wipe
I tell them they must kill adds, but second wipe ...
Tank tells us she tries her best but it's not her fault, idk what DD were doing.
Third time, we reach 12 stacks (never seen that before), I'm more amused than angry x) And they really tried to kill them. I couldn't DPS, i had to heal with so many stacks ^^
Finally one DD leaves, and my nightmare is over !

We do this all the time. Sounds like a bad healer/tank. I have never seen a problem doing this, even with PUG. We usually go all the way through the barriers and spawn all enemies.
It's not even hard.

Got a Haukke HM run in lvl 50 roulette earlier. Tank was a bit slow and didn't want to pull large groups (despite being in full i200 tome gear), but we had no issues really.

Until, that is, the dungeon pull. Just pulls the first 3 mobs and burn them down. I say we can do the whole room easy, the tank reluctantly does so. Pulls all of the mobs and misses several with flash. I need to heal and pop off a medica, because the DRG took hate on some. I take hate on several and my PoM and DS were wasted since I got hit out of casting. Wipe.

2nd attempt, tank doesn't even flash or overpower at all while grabbing the mobs. Obviously I need to heal, it's my job. An impulsive cure 2 when the tank's HP drops to about 1/3 and all the mobs mow me down. The DPS and I are now frustrated, but we eventually clear the room and do the boss.

Wipe on the final boss one time because the tank and DRG kept attacking the boss when the last add popped. lol

Me having to heal anything, ain't nobody got time for that.

From my experiences, nearly every group I been paired with usually pull up to the 2nd barrier, kill the trash, and then wreck the barrier to spawn the butterflies. Aside from my bad group on that day, I only had one other group that did what you did. I don't know how common this strat is.

It's a good DPS strat if you like to aoe
But an awful one as heal because the tank take massive damage and DPS usually Does too.
It's not impossible
Just boring and heavily heal demanding so no room for our DPS
