I think that's an officially released image, as it has the same style watermark in the bottom corner as seen on images taken from the official site. Plus the character is named after Faris from FFV - the characters used by the development team use names of past FF characters so yeah, he's not breaking the NDA I don't think.

Yeah, Faris Scherwiz is a character from FFV. The Devs seem to like naming their characters after old protagonists.
