22.7gb update after relogging?

I also have had many power outages throughout the years playing ARR/HW and never has this happened until Stormblood....

My data wasn't corrupted. Everything was still there and downloaded. It's like the launcher itself messes up with an improper shutdown. You don't even have to play FFXIV. A power outage/improper shutdown in general will cause the launcher to force us to download it all again.

Same here. I've had power outages for years or I forgot that my system was in rest mode and unplugged it. All of that while having Final Fantasy XIV. I've been in duties and had the power knocked out and came back to continue the duty. Not once have I ever had to redownload the game or patches due to a power outage or improper shutdown.

I go to school in a 3rd world country and unfortunately the power goes out at least once a day... I've already lost like 2 days of early access because of this issue... I see all my friends making it to lvl 70 while I stare at this 500 minutes remaining.. I'm kind of afraid to play anymore in fear of not knowing when the power will leave again forcing me to redownload all the patches again and again and again... worst is when its almost done downloading and it makes me start the process all over again... Seems like ill spend the rest of my life re-downloading patches.. so sad because I was really looking forward to enjoying stormblood.... all i can do now is share my pain with my fellow eorzeans in this thread :(

Just a question why does the power outage cause this even when you are not playing ffxiv? Doesn't make sense for it to corrupt files not in use?

I know how that feels, some of my FC friends and others from a LS that I'm in are already 70 and some of them are farming the extreme primals. and I'm here at lv 67 prying for this to be fixed soon. like I have said in a previous post, this had nothing to do with corrupted Data is something on the launcher

SE Kahuna told that 3 days ago only two people brought up the situation and immediately I called bullshit in my head.

We are on the same boat. I left to college this morning and left it downloading. When I came back I was hoping would be at least halfway done... no. An error message saying that the patch could not be downloaded. Basically it just downloaded 1gb out of the 22.7 in like 8 hours. I hav given up on this game and the subscription. The sad thing is that they have already charged me the monthly fee. So, it's my loss. Thanks, SE.

I'm hoping the hot fix helps tonight but I'm kinda expecting it not to

Personally, as was said before, I did the PS4 backup test and it worked! I made a backup on my HDD and forced a shutdown on my PS4 and it started downloading 22gb again. I restored the backup and the game was back up and running again. I know that is not the solution you want, but it can help many here.
