I'm stuck. I'm at Salmon Pink but it doesn't seem to want to change any further than that. Not getting any more messages when i feed plums, pineapples, or valfruits either.

I should create an official preface I can copy and paste stating, please don't hate me if this doesn't get you to your exact preferred color. Though, let me see if I can offer some guidance at the very least.
Storm Blue
30R 58G 107B
Soot Black
37R 35G 30B
Now there may be a more "efficient" way to get down to these values, but this is kind of a "off the top of my head" here. Try something like this:
x1 O'ghomoro Berry
x6 Mamook Pear
x9 Xelphatol Apple
What I'm banking on, is this will get you into the ballpark of Soot Black. Then, when you're closer, we can make small mofifications from what color you land on to the eventually preferred color.
Ahh, sorry for the misunderstanding. The "times X" indicates the total amount of fruit of each type you should feed him in one go (all at once).
Each fruit you feed may or may not trigger its own "color has changed" message as it adjusts the values behind the scenes.
If you feed all the fruits I listed above, you should see at least one "changed colors" message, but even more than that is likely.
FOR SCIENCE!
Here is what I am going to do for mine:
http://i.imgur.com/k9Bv8Ag.png
The influencing factor being the range between 3 to 6 and can be adjusted accordingly.
The top row of matrices is a total of the previously performed feeds.
The bottom row of matrices is the steps needed to get to the desired one.
I can adjust the number of Darkening and Lightening feeds in the bottom row of matrices until I get a "Total Adjustment" that closely matches the difference of the "Desired Colour" - "Current Colour".
I would like to tweak it so it can do this automatically but too busy lately to really look into something like that. Plus, it would probably be overkill XD
EDIT:
Realising I forgot to change the current colour on the bottom row to the new colour from the top so it will adjust the feeding to the following:

EDIT: I am after reaching my daily post limit. Thanks SE! Getting into a good discussion here.
Awesome, hope I am getting the hang of this now. Replying here because, well...daily limit >.>
I am putting all of my information into a single thread which I can't even bump now even though I added that huge chunk to Feed 4 over here.
Using this method here is what I got for lavendar:
http://i.imgur.com/OWxlgMt.png
Wha you need to concern yourself with is the very bottom left. While I didn't divide in the nubmer of foods you can simplify it down to:
4 Red lightening
12 Blue Darkening fruits.
Hoping this works if you decide to go with it.
Could anyone help me out here? Looking to get to either Gloom Purple or Lavender Purple. Right now I have a bunch of Berries(68) Apples(48) and Valfruit(36) to work with. I also have 1 Han Lemon so I can start from Scratch.
Anyone know what my best bet to hit Gloom/Lavender Purple would be?
My chocobo is Lavender Purple atm. You can get there using only berries. To play it safe, you could feed berries till you got the 'growing new plumage' message and then stop and wait for 6 hours, and do it again till you get to Lavender. I used 13 berries to get there, but this was before we were looking at the plumage message, rather than the number of berries.
Hmm yeah I was thinking of doing that. I'll have to try it out when I wake up in the morning I suppose. Ive been trying to wait on using the Lemon until someone could give a more concrete(Well, as Concrete as this system allows of course) amount of Plumage Change messages it took.
What is the color now? It could be shorter, depending.
For the Lavender: From Desert Yellow, you can do it in 5-7 feeding sessions by feeding Berries until you get a "Chocobo is growing new feathers" message. At that point, stop feeding, wait the 6 hours and see the change, repeat until you get Lavender.
I have seen 1 report of Gloom Purple by continuing to feed the Berries beyond the Lavender (could be up to 3 more sessions)
desert yellow>
It is safer to do the colors in single steps, as each "new feather" message after the first could be a "hq" type of proc, a color change, or nothing happens. The game shows a new feathers message regardless of actual result.
Got Snow White again by a different route. (Not sure if this one has been posted)
1st 6 hour window: 4x Plum = Sylph Green (fed until feathers message)
2nd 6 hour window: 6x Plum = Snow White (fed until feathers message)
Update: After doing the above combination getting Celeste Green, feeding one single berry on the 2nd round and it turned Sky Blue, just what I was looking for <3

First attempt, random feedings just to wing it >_> Regal purple

Then I threw on some more darken blue, lighten green and got Dalamud red (no idea how adding more blue to purple, gets red lol)

>_> Glad it doesn't use up my greens while riding
from midnight blue to wine red
Fed it 2 pears and 7 apples (only got 1 feather change msg)

My pretty boy is Apple Green, and I love him~! :D
You can find my exact process here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post2383946
So apparently, the darkest blue you can achieve with straight berries is Royal. Which is obviously not the darkest blue. I'm aiming for midnight, void, or ink blue. None of them seem to involve red or green (in my opinion, but I'm horribly colorblind), so what should I be adding to the mix to achieve said results from Royal blue? Help a visually crippled guy out here?
Ive reset my Chocobo to Desert Yellow(Or Base I believe is Desert Yellow?) and fed it about 15 or so Berries, 12 had the "New Feather Message". Most have been saying around 13 Messages gets them Lavender so I'll see what that does for me.
Another Snow White. Took two feeds of Doman Plums, stopping after getting the 'new feathers' message. 1st x5, 2nd x9.

So i just went from the standard yellow and after 1 feeding of 23 berries, 11 pears and 9 apples i got Charcoal Grey. Any idea on what feed and how many id need to get Black or perhaps Ink Blue?

Ink Blue.
I basically winged it using 36 apples, 36 pears, 36 berries over 3 feedings. I would go apple, pear, apple, pear, apple, pear, then some berries until I got a couple feather change messages and repeat this until I would use a 3rd for each feeding.
I went through 3 different shades of darkening brown and finally used 3 berries and 1 pear on my 4th feeding to get to Ink Blue.
Since nobody bothered to answer me I'm just going to ask again:
I've been trying to get my Chocobo to Iris Purple for quite some time now since I've been switching back and forth between Colibri Pink and Lavender Blue everytime I try to get there.
Now, here's what I did yesterday before going to bed:
Starting Color: Colibri Pink (R:217 G:149 B:198)
Guess what the result was after feeding my Choco one Mamook Pear (deepens green)?
Well right....
Resulting Color: Lavender Blue (R:128 G:120 B:169)
What I expected the result to be after feeding my Choco that Pear was Iris Purple (R:178 G:152 B:183), since the RGB values of Colibri Pink are pretty close to that one....
Just wondering where the RGB values of my Choco might be at :/
I fed my chocobo 12 pears, 10 berries, 5 plums I got apple green, all in one feed.
So my chocobo was Snow White, and wanting Ice Blue, I fed it berries to the first new feathers message...and got Lotus Pink. Is it just me, or should +blue not turn white into pink!?
This is getting crazier than those Leviathan EX MSpaint diagrams, but good work keep it up everyone!
The Result i've got is ... Cork Brown ... Maybe its bacause the last fruit i fed is O'Ghomoro Berry ... should have fed Mamook Pear instead ...
Anyway i'll still stick with Blackrukus's Method.i've fed my Cork Brown with this order | 20 O'Ghomoro Berries, 10 Mamook Pears , 8 Xelphatol Apples
Message "Beginning to grow new feathers" pop at 5th berries and everytimes i fed the rest of fruits.
And...
http://i1002.photobucket.com/albums/...014_012434.png
Royal Blue
While not Midnight Blue, looking at my chocobo in this color just feels right so this is the way I'm going to keep him.
Good luck on your coloring everyone!
And result just came in an hour ago .. And this time i've got .. Regal Purple .. Never expected that .. So at this point i have 2 options
1) continue DARK BLUE PATH
OR
2) go with DARK RED PATH
And i decide to go with DARK RED PATH since Regal Purple got nice amount of red in itself i just have to darken more red to let the value of green and blue drop. Here is my method | 6 Xelphatol Apple 3 Mamook Pears 2 O'Ghomoro Berry but this time i've fed in this order instead
3 Apples - 1 Pear - 1 Apple - 1 Pear - 1 Apple - 1 Berry - 1 Berry - 1 Pear - 1 Apple
And the message "Beginning to grow new feathers" pop at last apple.
If my personal Theory is right,i should get Dalamud Red or Rolanberry Red or Wine Red
The result will come in 5 hours,For the time being if anyone with solid theory can help predict the result,i'll be appriciated.
I fed it 3 more O'ghomoro berries overnight (message at the third) and it changed from Seafog to Raptor Blue.

Wonder how I can go to Othard blue from here
Alright so now my chocobo is shale brown >.> not much better than coral pink lol.. any advice as to where i should go from here to get him to grape purple?
