As many people have said already; login issues aside, the game looks beautiful and plays awesome. Kudos to all the hard work everyone at SE has put into ARR.
While the NA/EU server issue is being worked out, I chose to roll a toon on a JP server and just have fun rather than casting Meteor on the Forums. Almost have her up to 20 and am on Copperbell Mines now. Maybe it isn't optimal for some but surely people can roll an alternate toon on a JP server so they can play while the NA/EU servers are straightened out.
Many people seem to have forgotten the major precedent that SE has set by choosing to completely redo the game as opposed to just letting it die and then shutting down the servers. I do not believe that any other company has done this or even thought about doing this before. Hats off to the pioneering minds at SE for choosing to go this route to begin with.

Thank you Yoshi-P and dev teams! My friends and I have been following the developing news of v2.0 ever since the end of v1.0, and we're very impressed with the new level designs and all of the new things for us to do! We know the server and data center issues will get sorted out, and there's a lot of us who are waiting patiently. We're also excited to see what new things you all have in store for us in the future.
Yoshi-P - you're a man I deeply respect. And as of right now in my top 3 for game devs. Having played ffxi for several years I was so use to zero communication. I grew accustomed to this. Then you came, you fixed something everyone deemed unfixable. And better yet you were open with us fans the entire time. And to add to that you acted human. You didn't wear a fancy suit in every live letter and talked to us like a business man you came at us like a fan looking to make other fans happy. Seeing you walk onto a test live letter shaving your face cemented how much I liked you as a director.
You made me excited for Square-Enix games again. Something I haven't felt since before ff1:.
Thank you Yoshi, and dev team for your continued effort to bring us Final Fantasy XIV. And I wish you all good luck in the next 5-10+ years. Much to look forward to!

Thank you Yoshi-P, its not the game you made that makes me love FFXIV, its your attitude and utter devotion to your project that will make me a customer of yours for a long time. Producers who are willing to bare all, simultaneously praise and acknowledge other great MMO's, and be upfront and straightforward with their game design are not just rare, your the only one I know of.
You have managed to make a single MMO turn from being the worst (1.0) to best (2.0) experience I've ever had.
Fate has a sense of irony it seems. Keep up the fantastic work!
Posting to show my support and make a suggestion, personally I'm not logging in until they have the problems sorted. This is to give all the whiney kids a chance to log in, in hope of preventing them from ruining the game I have played since and through 1.0, via metacritic or bloggs or whatever, the game I want to survive.
And I suppose I'm asking or rather suggesting/recommending to anyone who actually wants the game to survive this pointless drama to do the same?
Simply wanted to make a suggestion to people with patience, who want to see the game shine.
