Dragoons. Dragoons are the bane of my healing existence. Not ALWAYS their fault. (Yay for Jump animation lock crap)....but a LOT of the time, Dragoons seem to have this strange, let's call it "Tunnel vision". They get so caught up in the big numbers and DPSing so hard that their Momma can feel the poke of a lance....I think they forget to stay out of the red circles. I dunno, maybe watch where the tank has the mob/boss positioned. There are a lot of times I spend more MP healing a dragoon than i do healing a tank. Simply because they, for whatever reason, refuse to move out of the red circles (circles, cones, lines, whatever, pick a shape). I never have the problem with Monks...only Dragoons. And, of course, if/when they die....it's all MY fault. "WHERE WERE MY HEALS?!?!?!!?!?111" ...Oh. I dunno. Where was your common sense? Maybe "your" heals were on the tank where they were supposed to be?

OK, I have A couple:
1: First, I was a 50, have my hq Vanya,HQ 2star accessories, relic +1, went in the DF one morning for WP and the Warrior Tank obviously inspected my gear and said "Oh your geared" and then proceeded to run to the first two tonberrys, not waiting for the NPC to finish, ran past, so by the time everyone realized what he did, we had the agro, so i sprint, he runs past the bird, up the stairs, past the beetles, and finally stops, i swift cast SS+bene, but he dies before bene fully casts, lays there dead yelling in chat after we all wipe "Haven't you done a *%^$^* sr before" when he rezzes in i inspect him. AF, i45 weapon *facedesks* i tell him he wasnt geared for an sr and he rage quits thankfully a friend was on and he qued to WP in progress and helped us finish the run with no more wipes.
2: again WP, Bard is here obviously for the first time. and the tank lets the party know that there are two trapped chests and he would get them. Bard runs to the first one wipes, says something about my heals sucking, second chest, same thing...
3: This one is a healer derp. I have a macro i use occasionally, Cleric Stance>Aero II>Thunder>Cleric Stance set on <tt> (so i never have to take my cursor off the tank) 99% of the time works like a charm, but one time i cast it and the damn thing doesnt pop me out of cleric stance and i didn't notice it, and start healing, tanks bar barely moving, so i DS, and i crit for 595! I was like WTF, panicking, i am spamming cure,glance down at the equipped bar to see if anything was red or missing, thankfully we didnt wipe and got to the second boss finally when the tank politely says "yanoo, heals work better when your out of CS'
felt like a total tard the rest of the run -

I was playing Tam-Tara just to get a feel for playing Scholar. Tank's fine, pugilist is fine, but this lancer... He wouldn't follow the tank's target, he'd run ahead and pull groups, and just all kinds of things you'd usually chalk up to being new at the game, so mostly excusable. But we finally have to stop and tell him off, and his response: "You idiots, I'm being the off-tank."
Needless to say, I focused my heals on the "main" tank from then on :p -

In every MMO I've played, I've always played a support or healer role.
I did Stone Vigil for the first time last night. My main job is SCH, but I was convinced to come as SMN so that someone else can come as WHM. I've never played as SMN, except for the job missions every 5 lvls. I had no working knowledge of the job's abilities or how they fit into rotation. None of this set in until the first boss battle. I went into panic mode as the party's hp kept dropping due to the our lack of understanding of the fight's mechanics. My fingers went on auto-pilot and kept trying to target my team with non-existant adlo/phys/succor/embrace hotkeys, which, of course, did nothing -- well, except for Physick.
In the end, after a few wipes (mostly on my part because I learn by repetition), we eventually cleared the dungeon.
I've never felt so helpless and powerless in a group. -

I was chatting with my LS mates at the same time so I was distracted. A few moments later, my Garuda HM DF pinged and I went in. So we do all the pre buffs and stuff and start the fight. As I'm healing the MT, I'm wondering why my physick is healing for 200+ instead of the 800+ I'm used to. This goes on for a while until we reach the end of the first phase and it finally hits me. I open up my character window and staring at me is my lightning wep and not my relic +1. I have NEVER felt stupider in my whole life.Quote:

Just did a failed AK run with a stupid tank and his stupid DRG friend. Used Overpower all the time on AoE pulls so never got stacks of Wrath up to help my heals. Didn't care to dodge red lines, too busy gabbing in FC / LS to dodge anything properly, insisted that I use Eos over Selene even though he was geared enough to handle Selene. Insisted on burning Demon Wall instead of killing Bees though and with our DPS setup, that wasn't gonna happen in any effective manner, and you could tell because Golems were almost always respawning by the time the first one fell on the first boss.
He told me I should be healing his DRG friend when his DRG friend ate an Iron Justice and died in a single attack. Then he tells me my Lustrates suck since they were only healing him to 800 HP even though Lustrate is based on a total % of HIS HP and not my own (I guess that kinda tells you how much HP he actually had, admittedly most of his gear was broken by our third attempt at the final boss and he couldn't hold hate because of a broken Ifrit's axe). I've healed a WAR tank in AF a half the pieces of DL this guy had with no issues what so ever, but this guy, I don't know what happened, but he was just terrible. -

darkhold as scholar ...there came warrior and dragoon both in AF full gears ...AND lighting weapons...told them few times to change weapon to something proper but no and thus it was pain to even work first boss, well as they refused to use weapons that can hold aggro or do dmg, myself decided to not run with them either.
