A summary of healer issues

Sage will have a 3 button dps combo instead of a 1 button spam and will have the highest healer dps and AST will be gutted.

But in all seriousness I hope that healers get a complete overhaul to make them more engaging and fun.

I have no faith, as for now, on the sage trailer we had: a cure, an adlo, a singlet target damage, and aoe damage.
I wish I could get my HW/SB scholar back tho, but even "recent" changes, like the energy drain dps change to scholar for it to be a 10 potency gain, show that they don't plan on backing down.

Hopefully one of the changes will concern overwrites between shields and regens. And especially since Sage is about to be a barrier healer, it's gonna be rough for scholar mains to deal with those overwrites in trials and alliance raids even more so because if your adlo gets overwritten and you planned to deploy it, you're about to be out a mitigation cooldown for the next 3 minutes with zero effects given because the sage overwrote the target shield.

I was thinking about this the other day and I think a good solution for Shield Healers:

Using a shield on an existing one provides the Galvanize buff. That way they stack.

It’s been stated, but with how many people are planning on at least trying Sage out I hope there is some way duo barrier healer parties will have some kind of synergy. Constant overwriting in those parties is going to be a nightmare.

About 2+ years ago in a bismark trial on SCH I was paired with an AST. We wiped once because the tanks messed up on the add phase and somehow through some weird twisted logic did my AST partner decided that they needed to swap to nocturnal sect... with a SCH in the party.

There wasn't a whole lot of synergy. If they don't solve this then it's only going to get worse because I guarantee you if they do not then people will constantly overwrite shields because "their" shield icon isn't on the party.

Especially when you consider none of the tanks overwrite other buffs.

This will only be an issue that affects two jobs in the game: SCH and Sage, and that shouldn't be the case.

Hard to call this.

Sage needs abilities to justify being over an Ast/Sch, Ast has Cards and Sch has Chain which are powerful buff tools. All Whm has is Glare, Glare, Glare, and if Sage gets the same treatment as Whm, it's unlikely for it to be over Sch in Optimization runs. It will be popular in the community for being "new", raid wise it's hard to say.

For GNB it's because it syncs with current buff timers including Pld (60 second cooldowns), Drk is an exception certain fights for it's strongest Burst power out of all tanks.

Fairly sure they said they're adjusting matchmaking to require 1 barrier, 1 non for full party content.

I doubt they will do that for normal 8 man content. Raid Finder, however, would most likely, since that already tries to give parties one of every DPS.
