Who was it said we'd get a response Tuesday? Bang on the money. I put Monday as an outside guess earlier but still - hurrah! If nothing else this also puts to rest one of the arguments being hurled about by certain less friendly members of the community, too, hopefully.

Now, here's hoping us roleplayers don't have to go through too much palava come that time, and that the server's setup won't be too unfriendly to people don't like roleplaying so much as just being on a server with the sort of community is friendly to it.

im sure 99% of the arguing thatl come when 2.0 hits and your offered a server is due to the fact youll have to transfer away from Balmung to a new server. And how people will whine its unfair they have to leave friends behind and itl split the community.

And yes, it's pretty obvious that'll happen if a separate server is created. Frankly, though, how is that different from any change to the game? Some group will always have issues, another will present reasonable counter arguments, and then there'll be one more whose members just act like idiots.

I suspect come that time I will be supporting any threads asking either that the official designation be applied to the server with the greatest roleplayer concentration, or any thread proposing a good idea for getting the community comfortably transplanted. But even if that motion fails and the RP server's creation is done clumsily, I still think the existence of such a server would be most beneficial in the long-run so.. yeah. I know I wouldn't mind starting over to follow the majority of roleplay. Of course that's only my opinion but.. that's kind of the point.

If anything, my concern is that the eventual creation of a roleplay server will make certain people feel it gives them free reign to be nasty to anyone fancies engaging in roleplaying on a server that isn't officially suggested for the purpose. But then, I guess there'll always be people are basically just horrible. Hooray for blacklists.

it will be a new sevrer 100%, they wont designate a server already out there as a roleplay server, for the same exact reason the EU server is a "new" server compared to the others which are merged
you dont want to force people onto a roleplay server who do not want to be there, it must 100% be by choice(its more fair obviously, since roleplayers want the server that they should be inconvenienced by a move and not those who arent the roleplayers who do not want or do not care about the server)

as far as people who will come harrass you, yeah youll get those regardless its the nature of the beast, on or off an official serverm though you cant say that non roleplayers showing up on a roleplay server wont get it thrown in their face too...same beast...same crap

We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I for one would love to transfer over to an RP server given the chance. I play this game to RP, and most of my friends are RPers. I suppose it would be a lot harder for the light RPers or people with a lot of non-RP friends they are super close with who wouldn't want to go along with them. /shrug Everyone has to make their own choices. If you're a lot closer to the OOC community then yeah I guess it doesn't make much sense to move lol.
