My annoyance is that Gilgamesh is already closed for new characters (along with a dozen or more other servers). My best friend was hoping to get on so we could play together; he tried a few minutes ago (on his lunch), about half an hour after it closed down again. Without server transfers, I can't go anywhere else (at least yet).
I haven't been able to try playing (at work on lunch break right now), so I can't comment on the other factors of the maintenance. This one's a biggie, though, and is likely going to continue the frustration for a lot of people. I remember seeing something about transfers being live Sunday, so here's hoping (I've got no one else on this server, so I have no problems taking my character somewhere else; I just need the option to do so).
lol no not hurt at all, just a game. I just don't throw away money spent 40 bucks on the game figure that's just a lil over a dollar a day for the 37 trial. So I am sticking it out for that getting what I feel my money is worth then more likely than not moving on.
however your awful quick to hop on the attack someone for there opinion bandwagon. Sure your not the one that's all distressed and hurt over this situation LMFAO what a goon!
I'm just wondering if its specific servers that are causing these new issues. I had logged in to the new server and had no issues (I know one example does not make all examples). So I wonder if its specific worlds or maybe just the old worlds which would mean they did something different to the new ones added. Or it could be the new worlds just havn't hit the magic number of people in them which would mean give a week or so and they too will see the errors.
Increasing the cap on server population and implementing a system where by the duty finder can now be horizontally scaled across groups of servers is far from doing nothing. They have acted accordingly by fixing the major issue holding them back. Fine tuning will follow. As with all other MMOs, you'll see gradual increases in stability over time.
Update on Character Creation, 20 worlds freed up, and are able to make characters now ( check OP for the worlds that you can't make Characters on)
so ye this maintance didn't seem to solve anyting, get home from work, maybe an hour or 2 to play, and no u can't login cause se didn't manage to fix their servers again error code 10102 persists. And apperently some retailers don't do refunds so ye very nice last product i've ever bought from SE
No matter what side of the fence you are on, one thing rings clear.
Whenever you start to pay a subscription and can be told there are periods of the day you cannot log into your character, that should be the end of your subscription, end of story.
I laugh at the irrational whining and defending, but when it comes down to it, that is all anyone needs to know.
I love this game and will continue playing it as is, until it's time they want a subscription. I've got my 50$ worth having the game, and the option to return if it ever gets resolved passed the point I'm willing to give it.
They either need to add more servers and either hope people will balance it with free transfers, or force large FCs to migrate to the new ones, and I mean only ones large enough to where the location of server wouldn't matter (100+ members)
This pussyfooting around the real issues and being nice about it will get their PR no where and will solve nothing. The fact there are more accounts allowed per server than there are spots to play concurrently is a horrible design, and borderline greedy. There is no need to be allowed to create characters freely beyond 2-3 servers.
Most every MMO in history that has had long term success builds it's sub base upwards over the course of 3-5 years before starting to tail off.
The ones that fail go up sharply in the first months and then tail off.
Then there's EVE ONLINE, which continues to go up even after 10 years.
But if this game is going to grow over 3-5+ years, the first week or two will be long forgotten by then except as an old funny story.
Still, it's very unfortunate.
so is the game working for users in the game can we FINALLY sign in no problems????
I am at work and I would love to know!
I wonder if there ever gonna address the 90000 error it gets old playing for an hour to then get booted and have to continually go through the arduous login process.........
DNO, i am told issues are fixed and people are logging in fine. Does that mean its 100% true? No it doesn't. It kinda sucks that we are so shell shocked that we cannot believe that it has been fixed, even if it has.
Seems, the 3102 bug is fix, along with some wait time, my brother did however got a 90000, but was able to log back in instantly with no 3102. Seems the servers are starting to level off on logins so hopefully before long everything is going to be ok...
of course i could be totally wrong and there are still troubles (of course square-enix isn't perfect like the rest of us and bound to have problems somewhere.)
Not logging into the game to some is like a crack addict not being able to open a clear box that they can see their next hit in. They will say a lot of things like, I am going to quit, I am going to kill someone, I am going to make a post expressing my anger and hatred for said crack that they cannot get too, but then, something magical happens and they get it open after long hours of torment and then suddenly life is great and their addiction is satiated.
P.s. drugs are bad mmkay.
@Devs Can you please, update us about the PS3 (...) Digital Download Sales?
I know they've been halted but it was like 1 week ago and I want to play the game asap.
e. school is almost starting in my country, so on... so it would be good if you guys could relaunch FFXIV again anytime soon.
The real test comes in about 2 hours when EST time zone folks log in. If so much as I see a single 1017, Im calling this a fail update.
5k to 7.5k max concurrent login + no new registrations to existing full servers = fewer 1017s. I won't say zero, that'd be premature.
