Name change :)

I tried using the Live Support Chat, who told me to try petition a GM in-game. Then I tried to ask a GM in-game and they said that they couldn't change my name for me, but suggested I leave feedback on the forums to ask for a Name Change function to be added to the game.

So please add one SE!

Bumping for support of name change feature.

I wanted to change my main to a Huyr but don't want to be stuck with a Miqo'te name name and am hesitant on subscribing beyond my free month until its clear that this will be possible in the future.

I deleted my own post. It was just me complaining and didn't bring anything to the convo.

I would also like to add myself to the list of people who want a name change. My friends were rushing me online and I just typed my real name. Kinda defeats the purpose of playing a game where you're playing as someone else. People make mistakes when they're in a hurry!

I want to change my character to a seeker of the sun, but Seeker and Keeper naming conventions are completely different, so if I did it would be lore-breaking

I dont think is gonna happen, because unique name player is will be easy for them to merge low server when there is not must ppl playing. Merging server and get ride of it will save them money.

Finally got my ticket answered, was told to come to the forums and request this service to be added. So that is what I'm doing by trying to keep this thread alive.

And so the allmighty fantasia is in my bag but it doesn't let me change name despite the all "we want name change to fantasia" suggestions here at forums.
It was good try when we started this post long ago but seems it wasn't just not enouuugh
How stupid would I look if I was to change my characters gender with this name -.-?

I'd like to have SE add a name change option as well
For example:
Should you have a female character called Michelle and switch to male you'd have a male named Michelle.
This is kind of awkward no ? So the simplest idea would be to give the people the name change with the Phial of Fantasia.
But since it is already been used by most people they would miss out on this, so give those people a one time use name change to keep things fair.
Or just give each character one opportunity to change their name, just once for free and then consider if it's worth making it a service or not
Eventually a service to add name/ character changes would be a nice touch for people who are still not satisfied with their character.
So i'd have to agree with most people here i'd like to have the name change as an option.

Have anyone remember the NPC from old FF games which would allow you to change you name, INGAME! Instantly! Expedite! In a flash!

It would be a bunny-type NPC of some sort with a hat & boots.

Has anyone considered using the World Transfer Service to go to another world, force a name change by having a character on the destination server with the same name, then transferring back to your original server?

The trouble with that is the free transfers stop on the 21st, and they say it can potentially take days to be completed, so there is a risk of the character you want renamed getting stuck on the other server thanks to twice the wait.

Really, it's already been shown name changes are possible thanks to 1.0 characters getting the option. Adding paid name changes and Phials of Fantasia to Mog Station would be pretty lucrative. There's plenty of people who "wasted" their free phial making changes they weren't happy with, so allowing the option to do it again can't hurt.

Please, Devs, we WANT to give you more money for this stuff!

:mad:AHH! We dont need name changes. I just see problems with this with all these gil spammers being able to change there names and become unblocked from block list. I would rather see someone have to restart then to have to deal with all the gil spamming agin.:p

I'm ok with my game name but, I'd rather them be unrelated to be honest.
For security reasons mostly.

This absolutely should be available in the optional services.

on a subject +1, I used "Fantasia", and a name I can't replace

im a cute lalafell... but... i dont want to be cute anymore ;_; monsters laugh in my face, people call me a midget... and i wanna change completly...
male lalafell -> female human... and i think Master Kyro on a female wouldnt be that.... erm... good. Thats why i havent used my Fantasia potion yet... cause there makes no sense to change my character appearence if i cant change name... please gives us a potion to change name for free once (because of fantasia potion) and then charge for more changes in the future :3

lets get a name change option!
