A ton of Japanese players have never touched a game like this, that's why SE spells everything out to the T. The western audience has been playing games like this since EQ. What is familiar to you and comes off as easy to you is because you've basically already been educated on this type of game. Considering that even then, ARR does have some difficulty and is probably more difficult than a ton of games out there, I think SE did a good job accommodating everyone as well as not treating anyone like they are brainless.
